I haven't had a chance to take a proper photo yet but just wanted to share (after trawling on this forum for awhile!), I've finally got my first Mansur Gavriel bucket!!! :yahoo:

I ordered off from Barney's when it was still available (it was available for quite awhile a week or more ago) - the white saffiano leather regular bucket with royal blue interior.
I am really surprised at how light and thin but stiff/structured this leather is. It's also larger than I expected but am excited anyway! :)

I think I'll next hunt a mini though, that size is probably better for my needs/frame. I am 5ft 4" but maybe I'm just not used to carting around a larger bag (I don't really carry much with me).

Before I begin my hunt though, I'm not sure if I should get the classic black for the mini or the beautiful more characteristic (as I hear it on here!) cammello (but I'd want orange on my interior and I'm wondering if after the patina sets in, there will be not that much contrast between the exterior and interior?).
Like you, MsBuffy, I'm not a black bag person (although I did hope to get a black regular bucket at first but my hunt was futile) so I'm just not sure - 2 light-colored buckets (white AND cammello?!)

Congratulations on your new bag!!! The cammello will darken, but I still think you will have a good deal of contrast with the orange. It also is not that light in color as it darkens, so it will not be similar to your white one. You're also planning on a mini, so the size will be different too. I am your height, and find the regular size perfect for my frame, but the mini works just as well. I just find the mini a bit too small for all the stuff I stash into my bag.

Whatever you choose though will be perfect. You really can't go wrong.:smile1:

I must be honest, luck was on my side when I purchased this bag. I had no intentions of getting the saffiano leather at all, and only knew of it when a friend of mine had the saffiano leather. It was never my intention to get the saffiano as I thought it was far too out of my reach. My choice (if I was lucky enough) was the mini veg tanned carmello on the mg launches or online retailers.

I failed two mg launches and even had one online retailer cancel my CONFIRMED order due to supply/demand issues.

I was on no wait list nor did I receive an email advising there was stock at Barneys. I had kept a folder of Mansur gavriel online websites on my favourites, web browser. I did my usual check of websites, twice to three times a week (sometimes more) and the stars aligned and a mini black saffiano was available on the Barneys website. I had to weigh it up in my head for only a couple of seconds - to can the veg carmello and go for the black saffiano. I have no regrets at all on my choice and I feel that the saffiano was the best trade off and worth the "trade".

If there is a waitlist, try to get on it, but I would suggest to check the website regularly, no harm in checking everyday. I know it gets tedious, but I swear, the day I found it felt like a won the lottery. No warning, random, and luck on my side. Be persistent if you can. I must say, I didn't believe that I would actually get the elusive bag til I went to pick it up from the delivery depot. Even after that when I saw it in my house I couldn't believe it.

Thank you! It's been rainy the last few days and been so busy running about, haven't yet taken my photo. I'm getting used to the regular size now though :)

Barneys have regular bucket in saffiano black/flamma available for pre-order now. Also regular and mini in black/gold interior, and some backpacks too. I just placed an order for black/flamma saffiano bucket yesterday. :)
