Congrats!!! I've love to see a picture. I'm sure you feel very special wearing them.

:smile1: I'm on the shyer side when it comes to modeling shots...even cropped ones. That makes me feel guilty because everyones modeling shots helped me make a decision..... especially yours. I had this preconceived notion that I would be priced out of Mikimoto because I HAD to have AAAs. Once I saw yours I reconsidered, and seeing them in person sealed the deal.

I will say that the 6-6.5 on my ear looks similar to what a 7-7.5 looks like on most women's ears. They are absolutely perfect, and exactly what I was looking for. Maybe I'll post some pics tomorrow.

The upside? When DF saw how much I loved these earrings, he said he plans on getting me a Mikimoto strand at some point. He asked all sorts of questions....the size/length I wanted...etc.. Never saw that coming! :D

Take a picture of them in the box if that's more comfortable for you. I just want to see!

Ooh, a strand! That's so exciting. I baby my strand more than anything else I own. What were you thinking as far as size/length. I have the 18" A1 graduated strand. As far as wanting AAA quality, I see some pictures of AA graded pearls that look much more blemished than my A1 strand of Mikimoto pearls.

Were you able to see the display they usually have in the Mikimoto case where they show earrings from each grade A-AAA? The AAA is so glassy, but I have everyone at the jewelry store drooling over A1. The difference is so slight, most of the time you couldn't tell if they weren't side by side.

Here they are! Yes, I was able to see all four grades in the store at BB&B. I definitely noticed the increase in luster as the grades increased in value. The AA and AAA were breathtaking, but more than I needed.

The strand I would want would be the simplest of all..... a Grade A 16" 7-7.5. I can't wait to go to the Mikimoto shop on our next trip to L.A.!

I love Freshadama!!! I own tons of pearls, including Mikimoto and Hanadama. I just purchased my first Freshadama strand and I am truly amazed. The luster of FW pearls is different from Akoya or saltwater pearls, and both are beautiful.

My studs are Mikimoto 7mm or so. They are beautiful, but I find myself appreciating the value in my Freshadamas. :) Personally, I don't care about the Mikimoto label. Had I known about Freshadama when I purchased my Miki's, I never would have made the purchase.

Ok that being said, my Hanadama strand is a different story. Now those were worth the money!!!

I disagree with the poster who said pearls won’t last a lifetime. With proper care, wiping down after each wearing, and never wearing while you sleep or shower, pearls will last many generations.
