I thought with many of us over the world maybe going into self isolation because of government regulations during this Coronavirus crisis , bordem is going to be a big problem.
You might take the time to go thru all your bags to see if you still have love for them. Maybe do some maintenance and condition a few. Organize your handbag wardrobe or closet and put clothing into a bag for donation.
While you do this I thought we might play a little game of Show and Tell.

Find the Oldest bag in you collection and tell us about her , and then the same with your youngest bag.
Could be your grandma's favourite clutch or the LV made in Dec last year.
Lets see what we can find.

My oldest bag is a Corbeau Ostrich Clutch which I think was made round the late 1940s early 50s. Found while thrifting for $2NZ
My youngest bag is a Farmer's Whistle brand bag I got last year for $6NZ after discount and gift card.20200318_074521.jpg 20200318_074418.jpg

I’ll play.

My fondest dream of having all the time in the world is getting old on day two. Sooo...

Oldest bag is the black clutch, below, that was my mother-in-law’s. She was born in 1916 so it could be from any one of a few decades. I’m guessing late 40’s early 50s. It’s suede and has no gusset. Totally flat. But it does have a lovely gold metallic leaf embellishment. I have no pic of it solo so here it’s with a Diane VonFurstenberg white clutch. I do wear it to winter events.

The newest is a new-to-me Bally shoulder bag that I found in a flea market last month. Great quality and utterly useful. I just couldn’t walk away

Oldest is my great-grandmother’s beaded pearl clutch. Dates back to the 1920’s so about a century old now. Incredible condition. I treat this as more of a museum piece, but I have used it for extremely special and rare occasions.

Newest in terms of style produced (not acquisitions) is my Prada Elektra. Purchased on my birthday last May. It was brand new season, in store purchase at the time. I like to commemorate special occasions with something luxurious to mark the day.

Total juxtaposition of quite literally an antique with an extremely modern/edgy design.

That gold embroidary is lovely...it must have really glowed when it was brand new and probably made your mother in law feel really wonderful.

My oldest bag is probably this 1960s Coach Bonnie Cashin bag given to me by a dear tpfer. I probably have some older clutches that were my mom's or grandma's but this one is special.View attachment 4692431
My newest bag is this Coach originals Emery 21 that I got this February when it first came out.View attachment 4692432

That beaded clutch is beautiful. i have a couple of these but no where near as old as yours. Mine I think are from the 80s.

I have turn-of-the-20C beaded misers purse and another floral drawstring. I sold my black silk purse on a chain and a 1920s antelope suede and silk embroidered clutch.

One of my oldest crocodile bags is 1920s Art Deco and my newest (2019) is an H Evie (this is the back but it's how most people recognise it).

What a fun idea! I don’t know how old this bag is as it belonged to grandmother and I do know she embroidered it. She was born in 1908 so it could be as old as the 1930s.

My oldest confirmed is a circle F (1976) Hermes Constance 23. A great vintage, as it is from my birth year!

Newest is a Massaccesi Phoebe, in the foreground. Just received it early this year and it is the perfect errand sized bag.
