+1.
@maxroxxherhandbags, here is my vintage retourne 28 BBK,brushed phw, first pic.

@Chrismin, i vote to keep your BBK sellier. I have two other Kelly bags, both sellier. they can easily be worn casually. The prune/plum (second pic) is a 32. The blue abysse/ blu obscure (last three pics) is 28. I’m 5’2” and medium build, size 40F, US 6-8, so not petite. DH also calls my blue kelly sellier ’the sexiest bag in the world.’ So, I keep mine, but also keep my cc in my cargo pants pocket, so Idont irritate shoppers behind me in line.

@880 how fabulous are you??

Think how much easier it is, though! Either you can splurge at H or go for the super-affordable ones that many of us found on Etsy. :flowers:
Thanks @Chrismin and @catsinbag for your kind compliments. As per the suggestion of @Perja, I got my cross body canvas straps from Etsy. I bought from a seller called shoulderbagstrap. I think around 50usd ? And, you provide her with your desired length. I believe there is also a thread somewhere on cross body straps for kelly bags. . . Hang on. . . Here it is:

+1. It’s my understanding from my SA that box is currently very hard to come by.

Wise words not to take any actions based upon lack of use during the present restrictions caused by covid. You domestic situation will change as your family grows older. If you use a Kelly now and it is ebene, it does not take a lot of imagination to see where having a BBK will be a useful addition to your wardrobe.
Vintage box will continue to have a special following and You can see that the consensus is that you should hold on to it if you can.

Thanks for your words !

Sorry - was sent prematurely! You guys are right — sometimes it’s hard to see things wikl change when you are knee deep — I’m sure I will feel liberated in some ways and sad in others ..
will hold on .. sigh .. this is the prob w Hermes .. items are timeless ... double sigh
I’m with others in waiting a little while and see if in 6 or so months you still feel the same way. I rehomed 2 of my H bags and now regretted it.

Personally I wouldn't make any buy/sell decisions based on what life has been like during the pandemic...it won't be this way forever and it's likely your needs will re-adjust once we're all past this.

That said, if you have no use for the bag and you see it as too formal for you, I don't see the purpose of holding onto it for two main reasons: the K28 isn't a small bag and I'm sure takes up some space in your closet, especially if it's in a box...and even if you're not using it, you have to think about what the leather needs with regard to long-term care and maintenance (like a trip to the spa every few years for conditioning).

so i have been having a grown up moment, trying to re organize, minimize, prioritize my closet and am in the midst of a dilemma
i recently purchased a K25 togo ebene and i can see myself using it a bit particularly on wkds bc it has a casual vibe
-- i also have a black vintage K28 box sellier - which truthfully- i barely use--just never get around to it bc it feels more formal and definitely w the pandemic, there never seems to be the right occasion
i work full time, have 3 kids so im either in work mode for which i have a bigger bag or mommy mode
on wkds i need an easy cross body and K25 can fulfill that need
i was thinking of selling the vintage sellier, but then i feel like i may regret it down the line as it is such a classic timeless bag.. but she just sits in my closet!
should i hold on to it or sell?
If money is an issue, sell it. If not, keep it until you are sure about your feelings and what to really do with it.
