I have an iridescent beige chevron Chanel statement bag (photo attached). I’ve been thinking of selling it to buy the LV PM. What are your thoughts on what I should do ?!

Maybe because I already had owned PM so I would say I would not sell any of my new or like new Chanel for the PM, now it is easy to get PM but it's not easy to get a good condition Chanel at a good price

I reckon for any bag not just Chanel, if you’re no longer using it or hardly reach for it and there is something else you can use the funds for then I say go for it. No point hoarding stuff or having it as a statement piece unless it serves a purpose. If it is a sentimental piece that someone special gifted you, then that’s another story. But if you bought it yourself and no longer use or need it then let it go to a new home and make someone else happy and at the same time buy something else that will make you happy and be used by you.

Yes, if you're not using the Chanel and aren't in love with it, why not sell to fund something you really want? I can honestly say that the only bags I've sold that I kind of miss are LVs. I'm just not as passionate about any other brand, and I haven't missed anything else that I've parted ways with.

When you guys say PM, I always think of the Petite Malle first and I’m like “wow, cool”, and then most of the time it turns out that it is just a Pochette Métis.
Which also leads to how I’d feel about this swap. I am not a Chanel fan at all. But. The 2 bags are on way different levels. The Métis is a great bag, no wonder why it is so popular, but the Chanel is a higher end piece. This is why I felt that the new bag will be a Petite Malle, that sounded the reasonable translation of ‘PM’ in this case. They are in the same league. The Métis is kind of a downgrade in this regard.
The others are also right that if you don’t use it, then you should find something that you would. You are only considering the Métis?

This!

If you're 100% sure the Chanel is not something you'll reach for anymore then selling makes sense. The canvas PM is nothing special to me but if you love it get it. The empreinte version is nice, and it makes more sense to me to trade leather for leather.
