I just purchased the black Gucci logo belt (with gold hardware) and I am having mixed feelings about keeping it. I haven’t worn a belt in many years, so on one hand, I’m really excited that a beautiful accessory can give my everyday outfits a new style . On the other hand, I’m not a fan of logos and I’m worried that the belt is overused on Instagram. Any thoughts on this accessory? Thank you!

I’m not sure which size logo belt you have but have you considered the smaller buckle? The GG is small and less “in your face” I find. I too didn’t like the larger gold logo one that’s all over Instagram and opted for the smaller one with the pearl beads.

I'm not a fan of any logo belts whether Hermes, Burberry, LV, Gucci etc. The Gucci logo belt is tacky and probably on the way out.

"Let’s start with the basics: wearing an expensive branded belt is the stereotypical nouveau riche move. It says “I want to wear luxury brands, but I can’t afford their actual clothing, so I bought the cheapest accessory I could find that still had a huge logo on it.” It’s tasteless. But, even more importantly, it’s ugly."

I don't think logo belts have to be tacky, it depends on each belt and also how people wear them. I have a few Interlocking GG buckles and other Gucci belts including a beautiful purple croc G that is also a horse's head, it's flash but it's not tacky. Besides no one has the monopoly on good taste and I hate fashion police.

I also don't see that someone who buys a Gucci belt is somehow inferior/cheap to someone who buys RTW. It sounds clever but it's not true. I think it's prudent to buy accessories that can be worn almost every day and are versatile.

If you went to the trouble of ordering it there's obviously there's something about the Marmont Running '60s GG that you like but it does feel quite exposing to wear. I'm not a fan of the Running GG for myself either, it's a bit obvious but IRL and on some of our members I have seen it look quite fab.
