Should I purchase the Classic card holder with my SA at Saks or wait until my sister goes to Italy (she said she would buy it for me there)?

I personally would not buy Chanel from Saks. They have a F rating on better business bureau and recently had issues with them which makes me hesitant to never purchase anything expensive from them again.

So my SA just sent me a text letting me know he has a black card holder available. I wanted a pink one as well and should’ve purchased it a few months ago when he had it available.

Anyway, fast forward to this new year, he finally has more available in stock (only black). The thing is I want to purchase it at the store but my sister says since she is traveling to Italy for her birthday later this month to put the purchase on hold since she can buy it in Italy and get it cheaper (I believe due to the VAT refund).

She said I should’ve asked her to hold off on buying the Hermes Oran sandals I purchased last month since she is going away this month (I had no idea she was traveling until last week).

What should I do? I know there’s no guarantee of it being available in Italy but should I wait and let her buy it for me?

The savings is not worth it. Maybe if it were a big ticket item, I’d say yes. Chanel savings isn’t as great as H at all.

There is a strong rumor of a Chanel price increase in Europe on March 2nd. Unless your sister is traveling between now and March 1st, your potential savings may be moot and you should just purchase here in the US with your SA.

She left yesterday for Italy but I was actually able to buy my card holder yesterday after work at Saks in NYC. Will post pictures later.

Glad you were able to buy it! Your sister was kind to offer to buy it for you in Italy. I think you're better off buying it here yourself. I'd be worried about not being able to find one in Italy and that savings would not be significant.

Yes you’re right. I’m even thinking of exchanging the card holder because I’m not exactly in love with the color. It’s a hard choice too
