Should I purchase the Classic card holder with my SA at Saks or wait until my sister goes to Italy (she said she would buy it for me there)?

So my SA just sent me a text letting me know he has a black card holder available. I wanted a pink one as well and should’ve purchased it a few months ago when he had it available.

Anyway, fast forward to this new year, he finally has more available in stock (only black). The thing is I want to purchase it at the store but my sister says since she is traveling to Italy for her birthday later this month to put the purchase on hold since she can buy it in Italy and get it cheaper (I believe due to the VAT refund).

She said I should’ve asked her to hold off on buying the Hermes Oran sandals I purchased last month since she is going away this month (I had no idea she was traveling until last week).

What should I do? I know there’s no guarantee of it being available in Italy but should I wait and let her buy it for me?

Is it worth taking a chance buying it here ( with a possible return) if your sister is able
to find it & how will your SA react if you choose to make the return after he was
able to get one for you .You have waited a few months to get your hands on one
Is the savings that significant that it makes it worthwhile ?

How significant is the savings buying from Italy?
I had to wait many months to get my hands on a slg as it was unavailable everywhere. I had friends and family check everytime they traveled to Europe and we had no luck. I bought it as soon as I found one in the US and the savings weren't significant enough to matter.

there is no guarantee that what you want will be available in Italy. Where is she going? I was in Venice and Milan in September and there was 2 card holders available in Venice and nothing in Milan.

I waited forever for a cardholder from my local boutique. They never contacted me after like 6 months. I believe they got them but never reached out because they sell so fast. Anyways, my sister went to Paris and was able to get me one but she waited 30 mins in line and they only had one in stock. So I still think your sister would have to get lucky. Also, you only save like $80 usd or so. If you can get it now, I’d just purchase it and ask her to bring back more substantial items. My sister was a bit peeved about the lines at multiple stores lol but I saved over $1500 on a Max Mara coat so that was worth it.

I personally would not buy Chanel from Saks. They have a F rating on better business bureau and recently had issues with them which makes me hesitant to never purchase anything expensive from them again.
