I just received shipping confirmation that my custom piece is completed and it's being ship to me. It's my bday present and it's 42 days from today. Package will be here on Monday.

My question for you should I open it or wait till bday date? What would you?

But I don't know if you can, as it's a custom piece or how long you have time for it, so...Maybe even someone else can open it for you and check, if you don't want to ruin your surprise

I would definitely open it to make sure all the work is as it should be. There should not be any delays if you are unhappy with something. Like it was mentioned, do not wear it until your birthday, just confirm that it is exactly what you wanted.
