Should I have my ears pierced?

omg @kbell & @Shelovesbling I completely thought a single poster posted twice! What a match you two are. xD

To the OP, you do you. If earrings aren't your thing, don't force it. I LOVE my ears, I'm always fiddling with them (idk how to explain), and couldn't imagine putting holes or dangly things on them. Also after watching my mom bleed out of her ears from ripping it getting caught on a sweater, and also seeing as she stopped wearing earrings now, I will never pierce my ears. Clip-ons will do for the fancy once-in-a-while occasions!

Ouch that’s like my worst nightmare, ripping my earrings out! I waited forever to get mine pierced but always envied those with earrings. I got myself diamond studs as encouragement and haven’t looked back since!

I had my ears pierced twice before (age 10 and 12) but I let them close up both times. I’m really squeamish and I couldn’t bear to put something through a hole in my ear.... I’m thinking about getting them pierced again but only if there is benefit to them. I would wear diamond studs if I did get my ears pierced.

Do you think earrings make women look more professional or sophisticated? I’d be going into a corporate working environment after university and I want to be taken seriously. I know earrings alone won’t do anything but would a nice pair look more professional than no earrings?

Would you say earrings significantly add to someone’s appearance? I.e. make your face look brighter/ more attractive?

Are there any other pros/cons of wearing earrings?

I don’t usually notice earrings on women unless they are dangly or very large. This might just be because I don’t wear earrings so I’m not looking out for a pair I like, whereas I notice other people’s necklaces and bracelets because I wear them.

I’d love some advice on this

If you have had them done twice and let them close, I wouldn’t waste the money or go through the pain a third time. Depending on the length of your hair no one will see your earrings anyway. Get some clipons.

So I was just like you, totally squeamish and not ready to handle piercings as a kid. I really wanted to wear earrings though, so I got repierced as an adult. I was still squeamish at first but I got over it. Piercing jewelry is a lot nicer nowadays, especially brands like bvla and Maria tash. You can get real gold and diamonds and they are designed to be left in indefinitely if you like. That way you don’t have to get squeamish about taking them on and off. Just find a really good APP certified piercer with a nice selection of fine piercing jewelry.

However, like everyone else, i don’t think earrings have anything to do with looking professional. So only get pierced if you want to, not for your job.
