Should I get earrings, upgrade my engagement ring, get birkin

Hi Ladies,

I have a question that I was wondering if i can get some input. My DH decides that he would like to get me a $15000 present (it was to make up for many Christmases, birthdays, mother's day, valentine's day, etc). Please help me decide on what to get.

My options are:
1. upgrade my current 1.5 ct engagement ring- my dh doesn't think it's a good idea bc it has a lot of memories (we got married in it) and he wants me to pass it on to my daughter one day. But with the extra money, i think I can upgrade my ring to 3 ct:yahoo:
2. buy diamond stud earrings 3 ct total wt. I have stud earrings now but they are very small ( about .75 total wt)
3. buy birkin
4. buy harry winston anniversary band

Please help me with this. Any input would be appreciated.

I also think about this as well coz after having a Birkin, I'm think about my next. Should it be a Kelly or diamond jewelry?? And the answer to me right now is geting diamond earings or bracelet. It should worth more in the long run than a bag, IMO. But if you don't have Birkin right now, maybe acquiring one isn't a bad idea :)

i wouldnt upgradethe engagement ring.. it has sentimental value and is something u got when u were first married.. so like your DH says it hold memories..

iw ould go for the birkin and then the earrings L:)

I wouldnt upgrade your engagement ring, esp if your husband is very sentimental about it. I would go for the earings as it sounds like that they would be very different from the ones you already have.

Birkin (depending what you want) and a smaller carat weight HW band. If you want a new engagement ring stone, buy it outright if you can, because your husband has reservations and you both should agree on that.

Thank you everyone for their input! thanks for advising me not to upgrade my engagement ring and putting my head in the right place. So I guess it is either birkin or earrings then. Thank you!

I would get the earrings and then the Birkin. But I would probably try to get both LOL! If you are OK with smaller earrings you could get 2 tct earrings and a Birkin for a little more, maybe $18K, assuming Birkin is about $8250 plus tax and 2 tct earrings for $8K or so.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. I have a great pair of 2ct studs that cost me $7000 about 2 years ago. The remainder could definitely get you a very nice Birkin, and you might even have enough left over to have a good jeweler make you a band that would look exactly like a Winston for much less $$$. You could have it all!!

I'm a jewelry girl, so I'd pick the earrings or the anniversary band. I personally don't take issue with upgrading erings, either, but I know there are a lot of people out there more sentimental than me.
