Does anybody know how it works in the stores in Stockholm or Copenhagen? Can you order a Kelly bag? Or do you have to be a regular customer to even be able to order one? I'm now satisfied with my other handbag collection and am contemplating getting a Hermes since it's the only one missing.

I'm not sure, but I think you can order a regular Kelly or Birkin without being a big spender – I've seen a guy do it. I ordered my HAC before I even made my first bigger purchase (a large Steve messenger).

Thanks Ulf. I was in contact with Hermes in Stockholm yesterday. They said it's no longer possible to order one, the waiting lists were gone for the present.

Sorry to hear that, Nahreen!

They hoped the lists would come back. Basically, no lists makes it impossible to get the bag you want in the right size, leather and colour. It is one thing if the stores are filled with bags to choose from but they are not, the store in STH had no bags on display when I was there a month ago! I even managed to find the Chanel of my choice from the shelves in NY. I had too visit three stores but I still managed to find it.

FYI, I am living in Denmark, according to my friend who is working at H store copenhagen you can still order B (2 years waiting time) nd K (1 and half year). But!!! you must be the Danish citizen or u do have registered CPR. No. of Denmark as a foreigner who is living in Denmark. Most importantly, you need to make an upfront payment of 10,000 DKK before order your B or K, which will be not refunded once you want to cancel it. I have no ideas about the Swedish H store, but the 2 H stores in Denmark were the authorized dealer of Hermes which owned by B.C Group. DK. Maybe you should try Germany or Italy instead of these Scandinavian countries ( also due to the high VAT rate).

Thank you for your intel. What does registered CPR mean? I have been to the store on Ströget 3 weeks ago and i met a really nice SA there. I bought a sunhat and she let me try on scarves even though I was not buying any. She gave me perfume samples as well. The day after my visit I was in the store in STH, I had decided to buy that perfume since it smelled so good. There I met a bored SA, who just said they were out of perfume. I then went to stand by the scarves (DH was getting me a present) and she never came forward to offer me anything. I went out after having stood there for a few minutes without any present. I would rather buy from the store at Ströget than the one in STH due to that nice SA at Ströget.

Well, the Danish CPR No. is your personal identificatinal number in Denmark that consists of your birth and other 4 individual number stated on the Danish Yellow Card (ID card). These H specific rules for purchasing Bs and Ks are quite similar to the German rules right now, as they are trying to encourage the local people on the H products. If you prefer make your Kelly order from the H store there, you may try to tell the SA you are living in Malmo City, since it only take 40 mins by train to CPH. Otherwise, they may refuse you as you do not have ur registration address in Denmark. Good luck !!;)

Oh I see. We have similar number in Sweden. You can not do anything without one. Well I don't have the money for one yet, so I just have to wait a few months, save up and then decide what I want to do. I thought I would just check if it is even possible to buy one. I have the name of the SA on my recciept so I can call and check if it is possible to order. The Danish currency is more expensive but I rather pay a bit more for good customer support and I felt the Swedish SA was just lazy.

I was at the stockholm store last month and there was a lovely Kelly in the window -- a beautiful pale blue -- in a 32. I don't know whether you can place an order there but maybe you don't have to!!

Thanks chefcat. I never looked in the window when I went there last month. Was then focused on the scarf section. I think I need to do a bit of saving first though before I'm ready. I would like an orange small Kelly or pochette that's why I thought ordering was the best choice. I don't want to fly around Europe trying to locate one. That would mean wasting bag money on plane tickets.

I'm in Stockholm for about 10 days and was curious about the Hermes store here. I'm looking for a B, any hints on how to get the Swedes to give it up :) I'm assuming speaking Swedish is a must.

It is not what you are asking but I was just in Stockholm yesterday and when I compared prices, Hermes was more expensive there than in the US. The clic clac bracelet for one was 4800 SEK ($730) when it is only $610 in the US. Even with the VAT return, it will still be more expensive. I was surprised at this because LV was cheaper.

I hope you get lucky and score a B. I saw someone get one this afternoon in Amsterdam while I got an SO Kelly.

Thanks Miriel!

Everything is more expensive in Scandinavia. Sigh. I will just wait until we get to Spain, where jt is actually cheaper. I would be so sad if they had a B here in Stockholm and it was more $$ than the US!

Interesting you saw a B in AMS I was reading that they are really tough for non-Dutch.

I was there 2 weeks ago. They had some bags but no B. I don't think they get any that are not already reserved (ordered). They did have quite a good stock with other things such as bracelets. No, it is not necessary to speak Swedish.
