Howdy Bennamom,
If you feel you must have a shootnig star bag then you must :o)
I personally think I look for esp tiny stitches and an exceptional hide great color as well...this to me is what makes an Hermes bag extra special...Not every Hermes bag has the superb extra tiny stitches ... And if those stitches do come loose as they can and do with a shooting star bag you are plain stuck unless you want to do it yourself... Best of luck!

If you really want to look for one you may want to contact this eBay seller (see link)who is also a tPFer. She had a box calf Indigo shooting star Birkin 35 but it's no longer on eBay. You may want to see if she still has it...

Oh, I was misunderstanding so please disregard my prior post. For some reason I was thinking you were looking for a bag from a master craftsman. That is what Blue Manx has (had?). For some reason that is what was on my brain!!

I see now... you are looking for a bag made by the craftsperson for himself/herself. I've got it now!:okay:

If you are buying the shooting star birkin as a collector's piece - not really intending to use it as your everyday bag - like one would collect a rare piece of art or sculpture to admire and feel a joy in ownership - and presumably you have the spare funds for it - then WHY NOT?
