You did the right thing if you wanted PHW. If you prefer pristine, unmarked leather, perhaps leave box to others.

Box leather shoes have been worn in all sorts of wet weather for decades with minimal care
Box can be SPA-ed perfectly, as it is one of the most beautiful heritage leathers. Its tendency to
scuff or mark (what some people dislike) is also what contributes to the development of patina
