I’m excited for you! And envious of your progress!
I’m getting ready to thin down the clutches that I no longer reach for. I’m not gonna lie, it’s going to be a struggle.…but it’s time.
One of my obstacles it that since I moved to this condo, I don’t have much display room in my closets. Seeing things out and ready to go, was more useful than I realized at the time. Live & learn….
Thank you! Still a ways to go but a huge step.

And you are fantastic at art choosing/framing/arranging and decor in general.... I am sure you can find somewhere to put your beautiful treasures out! (Maybe install a floating glass shelf or 2 near the door? Just an idea.)

Me too @diane278

It’s not easy letting go…

My own collection is far more modest than either of yours, but I need to prune it to make room for long term bags..

This year I’ve returned a bag I didn’t need, gifted a bag, sold 2, next week plan to gift 1 to my sick Mother, but plan to add 2 more, a small everyday practical bag which I know I’ll use, and a bag which I know I’ll be using in years to come, net being 5 out, 2 in.

Overall that doesn’t seem like progress compared to both of you, but I started with a much smaller collection.

Next year I’d like to add a new H, so plan to gift/sell more at the end of the year/ next year, but first will need to get used to my new pruned collection.

I’m excited for both of you..but excited for me too, although next year will be an investment bag as I want an exotic , so I’m more excited about the 2024 developments to my bag collection in anticipation ..my niece will turn 21, so I’ll gift her a special bag with matching purse..

Good luck to both of you!xxx

Update -my Mum has advanced dementia-I had a mini leopard print designer tote, I bought a furry leopard toy holding a Valentines red heart, which exactly fitted the bag.

My Mum didn’t even notice the contents until I showed her-she Loved the bag!She wouldn’t let go of the handles-although she Did let me show her the cute leopard inside-and carried it around for the rest of the day-my Dad said that the gift was a definite hit!

I Very nearly bought preloved a black Porusus crocodile Hermes Boutonnière to fill a gap in my collection-but I really love Bleu Marine bags as a first choice, also one of my Siamese cats is very ill with renal amyloidosis so unless I change my mind really H should be next year..

So atm I’m 5 down with 2 spaces and 2 dates shopping booked-on track atm!

I definitely don’t want to commandeer this thread(is that the right word?)- my collection doesn’t warrant that, and I haven’t been a PF member for long enough-but in the U.K. Mothers Day is the 19th of March.my bags do seem to go down very well(before she became ill, my Mum always said that a woman can never have too many bags or shoes!)..

I have a small off white Ted Baker bag in Epi style leather which I’ve had for several years -I’ve carried it a lot, but Definitely couldn’t see myself carrying it in 5 years time-as dementia regresses my poor Mum, I thought she might like it(before she carried large roomy red or brown bags).

My Dad would groan “Not another bag!”- but to see her eyes light up again..”Is that for Me?”..And create another vacancy/or just prune my collection a little more, would be great..

The bag cost more than I would spend on her-I’ve bought her a lovely card…in the same way that @diane278 gifts her lovely granddaughter bags, I seem to be treating my Mum, also my lovely niece loves handbags and turns 21 next year, I’ll gift her jewellery and a brand new bag and purse xxx

Yesterday we celebrated jointly my younger sister’s birthday and U.K. Mothers Day.
As well as a necklace, I gave my sister 2 unused SLGs
A Steve Madden large toiletries bag and a River Island leather black croc card holder
And for my Mum
The off white, orange piped Ted Baker mini handbag which she loved!

I have a bag wishlist (which fluctuates)- currently about 6 bags..I won’t buy all of them..my own birthday is in April, I’ve got a new bag which my sister and friend are donating towards, but I’m also buying a diamond ring on lay-by, also have a day out for bag shopping booked on 1st June.

I May gift my niece a bag for her birthday this year as well, as she’s off to Germany for the year next year..I’m just not sure yet which to part with, unless I give her a choice between 2 or 3..?

My bag collection will hopefully eventually resemble a curated collection but has a long way to go!
