Oh I wish I could, I'm actually in the neighboring country in a city where the H game is way too brutal and aggressive. I was on a trip to Chicago (lovely city btw I've been there 3x and wants to go again) in the summer and found this sa to be helpful, genuine and very honest. I made purchases during the trip and was offered a Gold B30 couple of days later.

I went again in the fall and spent some more, unfortunately this time the sa said she didn't have any bags for me. When I came back to my country, we started emailing back and forth building my wish list for the second bag: B/K 25/28 maybe 30, neutral colors, bright colors with PHW or dark colors with GHW.

So far I've only been offered twice since the fall ... K32 Etain and B30 Chocolat. They're both kinda off my wish list so I passed...I didn't think my wish list was that specific, but as we reach the end of the year, I'm getting anxious because I really want a baggg!!

I'm emailing every other week to check status, but she kept telling me there wasn't any, or she didn't get any because it was a small shipment... I asked her about purchase history and she said it wasn't the issue, it all depends on what comes in... I'm almost wondering whether she's not speaking the truth...

I think she is being truthful. My experience has been that when I give my wish list for a bag, sometimes I get the call within a few weeks or months and with others I never get the call. I think it just depends on what you’re asking for and how popular it is. For example, I’ve been asking for a pico 22 in a pop of color for two years and haven’t received one yet. But both B’s that I asked for each arrived within a short amount of time.

A Pico 22 in black with gold hardware
A Pico 22 in gold with gold hardware

Luck you! I think she is being truthful. I know each SA and each H store may do some things differently. But when we were "new to the H game" my hubby (in our naivete) spoke with the SM and politely asked her how much one has to spend to get offered a bag. She laughed and patiently explained at that time that they are looking for loyal customers who genuinely love the brand and patronize it. She even said that if they coerced someone into buying something in exchange for a coveted bag, then that would be like "bribery" and therefore, illegal. (Those were her words at that time). Hubby and I buy things because we love it and not because we were forced to do it. We are not VIPs but we get the items that were "promised" to us. I am only talking about what I experienced here. So with H, patience is an important element.

I choose to believe that the SA is telling the truth in this type of situations because 1) it’s true, a lot of it is just what they get in shipments and timing and luck. 2) I personally don’t think anything good can come out of doubting your SA like that. Especially since she has gotten you offers. If it’s your purchase history, SAs can work on it using gentle pushes such as “hey look at this (non-bag) item we got that I think you may like” and so on. Has anything like that happened from her side as hints? The fact you’ve gotten offers also suggests to me that your profile is good. If they don’t have what matches your wishes before the year runs out, will you regret not taking the bags offered earlier? I personally would rather “waste” a quota than buying a bag that I don’t love. So while I understand how end of the year can make you feel anxious I say don’t get carried away. Hang in there! Maybe good news will come very soon! Best of luck!!
