Well y'all, the craziest thing happened two days after I posted that question... I got my first offer!!!
B30 Etoupe Togo with GHW

Etoupe isn't on my wish list BUT I was more than pleasantly surprised because etoupe looks way different IRL than online. Let me know if this off topic or if someone can redirect me (tried searching through the forum), but can anyone share their thoughts or reviews on this color? I'm hesitant because the end of the semester is coming up and I don't know if I should hold out for a wish list color before June or wait until next semester... (P.S. Even more off topic but I want a B30 as a Masters graduation gift and before my 30th birthday in June. B30 wish list colors include: 1) Vert cypress, 2) Etain RGHW, 3) Bleu nuit RGHW, 4) Noir RGHW, or 5) Gold GHW) TIA!

Did you love it? Maybe you shouldn’t take it if you’re hesitant. Do you like contrast stitching? It’s a personal preference. My first 2 B/K offers were Gold & Etoupe. Lovely colors but soon I realized that I don’t like white contrast stitching on those classic models. It’s really hard to say no especially on the first offer but you only want to get what you would keep forever, especially for a meaningful occasion like yours. Good luck deciding.

Congrats !! I have an Etoupe B30 with PHW and just adore it. I agree with you on the color being different in real life. I find mine very versatile. Only take what you love though. Too much money to spend if you aren’t head over heels.

Hi everyone- thank you SO much for all of your input! I have been stressing out and am in denial that I actually received an offer. I've been cutting my split ends, researching reviews on the color, looking at the pictures I took, and diving myself into work to distract me. I will be going back to my H boutique later this afternoon with my DH to get his honest opinion on it and I plan to wear an outfit that reflects most of my wardrobe (blacks, grays, navy blue). Thanks for all the congrats, opinions, and tough questions this awesome H community has provided to help me make a decision!

First, congrats on that Masters !! Thats alot of work-AND your 30th Birthday? You TOTALLY deserve a B!!
That said, and please take my opinion for what its worth ( possibly nothing), it seems as though you may be compromising. The colors on your wishlist are all darker ( and perhaps a bit more classic?)and may reflect what you are truly more comfortable with ( note your dress and shoes). You have also listed RGHW, but this may be much harder to find and may not be as much of a deal breaker as the color.
IF you are comfortable, I might vote to politely decline, stressing how much you want a noir/blue nuit/etain for this VERY SPECIAL SET OF EVENTS ( hint, hint!!). It will always be your first Birkin and you want to love it forever- if you can't that's your answer. It certainly can be made to happen in 6 weeks. All fingers and toes crossed for a great outcome.

Thank you kindly for the congrats!!! Honestly at first, it did not make my heart sing but then the color grew on me more and more when I started to inspect the bag and saw it in different lights. I do seem to favor darker colors as you have mentioned though...

I would take the etoupe and run. I wished for a gold with ghw / etain with ghw b30 and was offered a noir with rghw. Wasn’t my first choice but I took her home and couldn’t be happier. What I’m trying to say is sometimes what you initially wanted may not be what you get but you find yourself loving what you got even more than your original Wishlist item. And now I look at gold b30s with ghw and I think to myself “Yes it’s beautiful but I much prefer my black b”. You listed 2 out of the 3 classic colours by H in your Wishlist and etoupe is the 3rd (in my world anyway) so I would take her without a doubt.

I think this is a beautiful bag on you and very classic/neutral as far as bags go! Just because it’s not on your wishlist doesn’t mean you can’t love it - and seems like you do because you mentioned you were pleasantly surprised. Good luck on your decision and keep us posted!

These are great responses because with the exclusivity of an H offer, one may have to compromise on one aspect of the bag (in this case, color). Plus, thinking about it now, having one of the classic H colors in GHW is super versatile and practical for me since it's for everyday use.

Ohhh my goodness!!! Your Birthday, Master's degree and a birkin!!! HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!! This may be an obvious question but did you ask your SA what the possibility is of getting any of the options on your wish list would be before the end of the semester? Obviously you have built a good relationship hence the offer, so it would not hurt to just ask and see what your options are. That being said you can NEVER go wrong with certain hermes classic colors and etoupe is one of them a very versatile color that you will not regret taking and possibly have in your collection for years. But only you know if she made your heart sing and gave you the girly giggles Congrats again! Hope this helps?

I had a TON of questions for my SA hahaha. I think I may have annoyed her so now I'm scared if I decline I won't get another offer anytime soon She gave me very vague answers about how she doesn't know what inventory will be coming in and she can't guarantee that a color on my wishlist with GHW in size 30 will come in before the end of June.

Although, answered honestly, I would say yes... I would regret buying the etoupe today if I got a VC on July 1st.

I don’t think regular Gold & Etoupe B/K come in tonal stitching, always white contrast stitching. Then again, I've only been shopping at H last a few years so I don't know about the past. Hope you the best of luck!

Thank you - I thought Chocolat is a perfect neutral colour too (more modelling photos are on my IG story if you want to check out: @im.trangdang) . It was really painful to have to choose!
