I don't know why I can't seem to fall in love with any of the settings I'm seeing... who is your favorite designer for settings? I was looking at Tacori, but in person they didn't suit me (and the saleslady was unpleasant) and since I'm using my diamond Tiffany, Cartier etc... are out. Thanks!

Which type of setting are you after? E-ring? Band?

I really like Leon Mege and Mark Morell. Tacori is pretty, but a bit too intricate for my taste.

Here's a question for you. What styles do you like? Classic? Modern? Vintage? Antique?

My favorites are Leon Mege, Mark Morrell, Sholdt, Michael B, Verragio and Tacori. But I am not someone who can wear micropave settings. Id go blind.

I hate to say that my taste seems a bit schizophrenic... on the screen I love modern but in person I seem to go for intricate vintage-y designs. I also don't want anything too generic - I originally had a plain setting and it just didn't make me happy. So basically I am looking for something that won't go out of style but isn't safe to the point of non-descript... am I making any sense?

Ahhhh, seems you like an antique style.
Google "edwardian engagement ring" and you may find a lot of what you like.
It's a little busy for me personally, but I also like antique style, I like some filigree and some milgrain.

I am someone who would rather have a plain solid band on the E-ring than a plain w-band with a busy setting. But this isn't my wedding set
