Serious shortage of canvas pieces

Have you checked in store stock? Or you might have to call 866 to help you locate whatever you need. Yes the lack of canvas is annoying

Am I the only person frustrated by the lack of inventory of canvas pieces? There are two handbags I want a couple SLGs and they are all "call for availability". Am I going to have to find a new brand to spend my money on? Anyone have any insight into what is happening?

I’ve heard that LV is attempting to phase out their canvas pieces. Which makes me incredibly sad because they are my favorite!

That's what I heard from my SA in Singapore as well and adding to that is that the company is trying to focus on their leather pieces.

I don’t think that is true at all. Look at the latest releases in the giant & jungle lines... and the black & white damier... On the go totes... and many many others - in canvas. There’s simply just higher demand than there is supply.

This rumor has been plaguing TPF for years and years. Yet, LV keeps churning out canvas items all day long... Of course, LV would love to sell more leather bags because they charge a premium, but monogram canvas is their bread and butter.

Last time I was in a boutique a couple months ago they had lots of leather pieces on display. They also had lots and lots of all the classic canvas pieces in the drawers and not on display. So while they may be hard to find online, and the displays are mainly leather, they still have tons of canvas pieces in the store. When I was in the store I had to ask for the canvas pieces I wanted.

You can always call client services and have them locate an item for you and connect you to that store. The drawback to ordering by phone is that 2 day shipping is free online and if you order by phone the free shipping is standard ground. Also, sometimes client services will lie about whether or not an item is available - I had one recently tell me an item was sold out everywhere when in fact at least 50% of stores had the item in stock. I usually have to call client services at least two times before I get someone that is willing to help. That's all in regard to permanent collection items --- if you're trying to order a seasonal item or a very popular style you may have to dig around here for direct contact information for a client advisor.
