Hi everyone! I have been lusting over the Retiro NM in black for some time. I just purchased a Fendi 2Jours in March, so another big purchase really isn't in the budget. I am considering selling a vintage Chanel Kelly bag that I have to purchase the Retiro (I received a fair offer from fashionphile) but I'm afraid I'll regret it. I don't use the Chanel often - I feel like it's delicate (due to its age) and it's not the most practical bag (I have two other Chanels that I use much more frequently) - but I do love it.

Do you think the Retiro would be a good long term investment? Would you sell a Chanel for this bag? I'm so torn!

I'm not big on bag for investments. Sometimes they sell sometimes they don't. But if you don't love the chanel and don't use it often why keep it? The retiro looks like a fabulous durable bag. If you love it get it and don't look back!!!!

The Retiro Noir is a gorgeous bag! If you aren't using your vintage Chanel and you have other Chanel's, I'd sell it, especially since you've already received an offer you deem " fair". The Retiro would most likely get a lot more use and enjoyment. It's great to have long- term bags in your collection, but we all need " now" bags that are current, practical and bring us joy while we're using them!

I'm attaching images of the two bags for reference.

Thank you!

Thank you! I totally agree - I will definetly get more use from the Retiro! The Chanel is just sitting in the closet. What's the point of that!

Omg, please keep your Chanel, it is so gorgeous and classic design. I really love the clean lines of the Kelly. And the caviar leather looks like it's great condition. In my experience I don't think the older caviar is that delicate, have you tried taking it out recently? Maybe a spin with it will convince you one direction or the other. The LV is nice but to me the Chanel is pure class.
