Selfridges & YSL - experiences?

Wow its approximately $500 cheaper with taxes and delivery included. This bag is $2300 per tax in the U.S.

I purchased my first designer bag, a YSL Small Loulou, from Selfridges last week. Selfridges had it listed for $1470 USD, about 30% less than the MSRP of $2090 USD.

My order arrived in 4 business days, but the item didn't arrive in new condition. The chain strap left indentations on the front flap, there's a scratch on the front and the inside, no protective stickers on the hardware, and no stuffing to keep the bag's shape.

I still paid less than pre-owned Loulous go for on Fashionphile, so should I keep it anyway? On principle I'm annoyed that Selfridges would sell new luxury goods with visible wear.

So sorry to hear your experience with your first designer bag! I would say that if you’re not completely happy with your order, then to return it. Are the dents and the scratch something you can live with? Or are you going to be disappointed every time you wear the bag? Can you call their customer service, and see if they can exchange the bag for you? I purchased the small loulou on Sunday, and mine arrived in brand new condition, without dents or scratches, with the stuffing and protective wrapping still on, and the chain tucked into the bag to prevent damage. It sounds like someone might have been careless when they packaged your item.
Once again, I’m sorry your first designer purchase was tainted.

i ordered espadrilles from Selfridges once and it was super quick! The shoes arrived in a YSL box, they looked brand new and cost almost $200 less than if I bought it directly from YSL (although Selfridges has now sadly upped the price to reflect US prices). I sadly had to return them and pay a fee, around $30, so it's a cost you incur if you buy something and end up not liking it.

I had a terrible experience with Selfridges. I ordered a bag from here and it came without a strap! Organized a return and now they’re refusing to refund me.

That’s crazy - I’m quite shocked that they are treating you like that, what’s the reason they have told you for not giving you a refund?

My experiences have not been great. My first purchase was the camera bag. It arrived with the tassell totally warped. I know about tassel covers so I didn't return it was able to fix the tassel. My next purchase was a small Lou. It arrived totally smooshed. I was able to return it with no problems after I sent them the pics. I know of others who have ordered with zero issues.

Hi! - I'm looking at ordering a bag from Selfridges as I would save over $350 CAD it seems. I am missing any hidden costs? It says Taxes and Duty are included, but I can't fathom why there's such a price difference.
