Scratched edge of my love

I would just live with it - it sucks - like the first dent on a new car. But with time I think the scratches and dings add to its beauty and history and I try to embrace them as part of the bracelet.
That is a really good way to look at it  Thank you

I have so many scratches and nicks on mine. I've learned to love them! It's bound to happen even when you think you are careful with the bracelet! Wear it in good health. Also, if you ask for it to polished you probably have to pay for the service and it may not be to your liking when the polish is down. Plus you lose gold after a polish! GL
Thank you, very good points a bracelet that loves life

I would NOT recommend a polish! Cartier did one one my loves (without permission!) and they edges are rounded now. I'm actually in a legal debate with them and do not ever recommend a polish on this kind of bracelet.
Yes I saw your thread, I was so gutted for you I hope it soon gets resolved properly. I couldn't believe what happened to you it was heartbreaking. Shame the store didn't have CCTV inside which showed the conversation then they couldn't try to wriggle out of it

I think u just leave it like that.. still look good though...[emoji4]

Thankyou , think I will just live with it

I'd leave it alone. Over time it will happen again. I've had my bracelets for several years and each has a few little marks like that. I would not polish them, because each time you polish gold, you lose just a little bit of the metal and if you continue to have them polished each time they get these scrapes, the bracelets will eventually become rounded.

i wear my love bracelet 24/7 and i also got tiny dings and a tiny scratch from playing with my puppy. the first scratch really bothered me, but now i don't mind at all. they just happen, even being careful, and that's ok, that's why they're made of gold and not glass. in fact i like that it shows those traces of my life, makes it special to me, and i wouldn't trade it for a new "perfect" one ever :)

Same as here..have a small scratch and I'm so perfectionis specially for my stuff..but the more u Polish the more get worst and loosing the value ( I think) of the bangle...so leave it and enjoy it..[emoji9]

That's a nasty scratch, its a dent already i think.. To even the surface it requires a deep polish/buff to even out the surface, in the process you will loose a layer of gold.
So better keep it that way.

Last Friday (26 March), I had a tiny scratch on my expensive classic love bracelet with 4 diamonds, which was done by myself accidentally. I took it to the Marina Bay Sands Cartier shop in Singapore to have it polished. The SA who served me did polish the scratch out on the half that I had requested. I then asked her if she could polish the other half of the bracelet as well, so that the whole bracelet gets an even shine. She did polish it and I had her put it back in the box rather than I wear it. When I got home, I put my glasses on and saw three big dings on the edge of the half that initially had no damages. This ding was visible and rough on my fingers. I was so emotional as I am so careful with my jewellery. I would not had been so hurt if the damage was done by me. But in this incidence, this damage was done by the SA who took it inside their room to polish it.

In tears, I took it back to the MBS Cartier shop immediately and another SA served me. He showed the damage to the SA who had served me earlier. In their language I do not know what was said, but she pretended that nothing was wrong. So, I would suggest to live with the minute damages, as they were done by yourself and not anyone else. At least, you would know how the damage happened.

Oh no, I’m sorry that happened. Did you manage to resolve this with the staff?

So sorry to hear this has happened to you! I also have the 4 Diamond Love and take really good care of mine, but there was a time when my husband’s watch scratched it.

When I got it engraved, I asked the Service Associate to have them buff that area out but cautioned him to not round the edges or do a polish, etc. When it came back, I could tell they did the most minimal buff possible on that area because I can only barely see the remnants of the scratch now if I look very closely.

I would be very upset if what happened to you, happened to me. I would definitely make a complaint to manager or someone higher up at that location and demand they try to rectify it. If you don’t get it resolved at that location, I would definitely write an email stating what happened up the chain of command. Companies generally try to resolve mistakes they have made.

Another word of caution: You should always inspect the item at the location in front of personnel before leaving. It’s easier to make complaints that way.
