I got one yesterday. By the time I get done with work and drive down there it would be too close to 7:30 so I don't think I will go.
They must have sent a lot out. Honestly, I don't spend near what a lot of people spend there.

Ah... they are closing the store for the event? I wasn't aware. In that case, I'll try to make my way down there (fight through evening traffic and get a sitter for my toddler). LOL. See you all down there !

They are being AR... you can't bring an extra person unless it was addressed to " Mary Smith and Guest". I wanted to bring my gf's as well. What a bummer! It's more fun to go with your friends.

Don't they realize that the more guests = more potential sales? Especially if they ply us with alcohol before, during and after?? Dumb!

Well, I think this is going to be different than just an everyday open house. I have heard that with other grand openings, they give some kind of token gift for each guest. Would be impossible to give them to everyone you invited if you didn't control the number of attendees. I think this is more of a reward and thank you to loyal existing customers rather than to attract new ones. For example, you would not believe how many levels up the corporate ladder had to approve me and my SO for an invitation to a Van Cleef event last month. It was considered a big honor to be invited.

I am not sure...my DH received an invitation and he has never shopped at H SCP...I wonder if they sent invitations to Fletcher Jones Mercedes customers...

But has he shopped at other Hermès stores? Most of my H purchases have been from other H stores, but I think I got an invite because the SCP H is the closest one to me.
