Surprised to read this Froufrou-though I agree that many of AF designs and patterns are overly intricate on me as well. I had to 'upscale' in size to GMs when H issued her designs. You'll see my reply via photo below.
I only have two AF scarves although after seeing all the beauties this week, I now have quite a few additions to the wish list. My first AF scarf was among the first 5 H scarves I bought: Les Rivieres de Babel, seen here with the toy monkeys and the home-made red lantern decorating my home this Chinese New Year. There are two sparkly monkeys hiding in the lantern

Motivated to wear my AF designs this week! I have a thing for monkeys, they are all over my house in various formats and places. You can see my mantel monkey with an umbrella hanging out in the background...hehe. And just to show you Pirula, I just needed that extra warmth of a CSGM today, so I simply layer over whatever silk I am wearing, trying to coordinate of course!
Some modeling shots just for you dear froufrou, and I 100% agree with lanit , that perhaps you may find AF designs a bit less overwhelming in the CSGM format. Both designs are Songe de la Licorne in the 90cm silk and CSGM shawl.

I don't have either, I have that fear that they won't be around at retail forever, so I think I must get them, but then the money tree is bare!!
