FABULOUS!!! I'll be leaving on QM2 for London in 2 days! Best ship ever. I wish they still had an H onboard though. It was replaced by Chopard and then they were subsequently replaced by...wait for it...MICHAEL KORS! :annoyed:

I probably shouldn't admit this, but I didn't realize that transatlantic voyages were still a thing! What a lovely way to make the trip! How long will it take you to get to London?

I will be zinging past you en route to Paris - but I will be enduring a long flight - ugh.

Have a wonderful trip - and safe travels!! My fingers are crossed that there will be fair weather for us both!

Thanks!
Transatlantic crossings are, indeed, still a thing however options are very limited. With the exception of some cruise lines re-positioning ships between Europe and the US twice a year [which are usually 14 day "cruises" with at least a couple port calls], the only option is Cunard's QM2. She is the only liner currently doing scheduled crossings that are still viable for transportation purposes. It takes a week to cross, as even though she could do it in 5 days they stretch it out to make scheduling easier [and to milk more money out of us in terms of onboard spending I'm sure! HAHA]. It really is a wonderful trip and you arrive with no jet lag! We are flying home though so I'm sure we'll make up for the jet lag then.

Have a wonderful time in Paris! Such a wonderful city and you will be in H heaven!! To keep this on topic, be sure to post lots of scarf-in-action shots at the FSH mothership!

Just a quick note to say that I'm LOOKING FOR THEMES for 2017 -- we have lots to recycle, but I'd love to hear new ideas. Send me your suggestions ASAP!!
I'll be starting the thread anew tomorrow and the present list only goes through May...
Happy New Year, everyone!

Can we do something like how the colors of the scarf can be found in the surroundings/nature? Like what MaiTai did here http://www.maitaispicturebook.com/2016/10/readers-style-challenge-and-fsh_19.html

Another one: wear the scarf you feel least comfortable with and tell us why you feel "awkward" about it. After posting the pictures you will be decided whether to keep it or let it go.

Another edit to add another idea: "Chameleon scarves" that can give very different looks depending on how they are folded. I think about Coupons indiennes or the newer diagonally different scarves like Les légendes de l'Arbre Coloriage, Cheval phoenix, Carre en Carres. How many different looks can you get out of one scarf?

And thank you for being such a caring scarf mistress, you put so much love and work into this!

Today's SOTD is one that I don't reach for often because I don't think the colorway is all that flattering. But it looked so lonely in its box - it was practically begging to be worn. Here's Chasse au Bois:

I usually wear it in a bias fold:

I find the foxes a little creepy:

Especially when this happens:

It's gloomy and rainy in LA today, and even though that means everyone instantly turns into a granny as soon as they get behind the wheel, I'm happy because oh, my gosh, it's fricking RAINING, yay!!!

But I'm sooper-dooper happy today because I got scarf mail!

Here's the pristine, new-to-me Mythiques Phoenix Coloriage, and in this scarf, the creature is not creepy at all but majestic and cheery:

This is how my son mimicked my excitement when I opened the orange box [emoji23]:

Thanks, Luvbolide! It stopped raining today. But that's good because I'm driving an hour away to possibly chase down another scarf to buy. [emoji57][emoji15]

Aw, thank you! And bon voyage - I'd love to one day sail the QE2!

It's so beautiful, isn't it?? I tried other darker, high contrast colorways in the store because that's what I'm usually drawn to but for some reason they didn't look as good on me as I had hoped. See? They look like I just vomited technicolor feathers:

I suppose it's the way I tied them, but I'm much happier with the colorway I have!

Thank you! Yes, you must have one!!

Aw, thank you! He's a hoot and a handful, alright!

I suppose I should keep him! [emoji16]

Scarf mail is the best mail! Wishing you much scarf mail in the new year!

This thread moves so fast, I almost did not catch your posts. Lucky me I saw all the quotes.
I love your humor, scarves, lipstick, pictures, the infinity room shot is tdf!
Keep on being that awesome in 2017!

BOTH photos are fabulous, Joannadyne! I just love the expression on your son's face. And congrats on your new MPC. It is definitely a treasure!

Happy New Year Silkies! I have been having a blast with family and friends, so not a lot of time to take photos on site. But here is my holiday shawl and new to me new year EB jige to share. Zenobie is a really wonderful design. Glad I have both the twill and GM in this design!
