Dear essiedub, how sweet of you! Thank you so much!! - Tourmaline quarz is usually white/transparent with black needles. It is rare that they are green like mine.

I've been lurking for the past few weeks, enjoying everyone's beautiful scarves. Now trying to stay warm with my parka and my Sous L'Egide de Mars Brrr.....

I love this! I tried this colorway on at the boutique way back when it was released. It's just gorgeous.... but that was in my early days of scarf collecting and I choked when I saw how much it cost. :)

Thank you FlaTiger, Litchi and SammyRoyal. I just love bright colours. I know you feel about the cost - I had initial sticker shock too - but now I'm addicted - they are so beautifully made, mine have really worn well and most important when it comes to winter - warm! For me they actually add a bit of fun to winter - its hard to feel fashionable when you are bundled in bulky parkas and boots and dealing with snow and ice and cold winds!

This "Mountains" scarf is adorable! I don't think I've ever seen it before. Is it new this season? Love the color Bostonjetset!

Thank you dear!! It was from A/W15 so is still available on h.com and in boutiques. Of course color availability changes all the time but you can probably find the red if you want one. It also came in orange, oxford blue, and pink.

This silk design by the Zimbabwe artist Sydney Nyabeze will be a spring 2015 GM! Can't wait to see the beautiful art in 140 format! Already the colors are featured on the SS 2017 thread and I am ogling the scrumptious colors! Also in a pochette version for you gavroche lovers.

Thank you, lanit, for that nice link -- I always like to find out the name of the artist for each design and it's so much nicer to have Sydney Nyabeze instead of just Ardmore Artists in my database!

I think the more precise name is tourmalinated quartz, here's an excerpt from the web:http://jewelopaedia.blogspot.com/2010/06/tourmalinated-quartz.html
Tourmalinated Quartz
Tourmalinated Quartz is rated at 7 on the Moh's Scale of Hardness. This variety of clear Quartz contains Tourmaline impurities within the stone. Whilst Most transparent varieties of Quartz are valued most when they contain no inclusions, Tourmalinated Quartz is sought-after because of it's Black or dark green Tourmaline needle inclusions. Tourmalinated Quartz is formed because at high temperatures and pressure, the Quartz and Tourmaline minerals are in a liquid state and therefore able to mix. As these temperatures cool and the pressure drops, the two minerals separate once more, with the Tourmaline needles being trapped inside the Quartz and creating Tourmalinated Quartz.
There are several closely related Quartz varieties that go through a similar formation process, with the needles of Tourmaline being replaced with different impurities. These include Rutilated Quartz, Grass/Actinolite Quartz, and Dendritic Quartz.

Okay, back to topic!

Wow! You are a great researcher! Although I was not aware of the correct name in English... Sorry for that... And back to topic!
