Here is today's monochromatic scarf:

rosamonde - such a classic and interesting pattern- I bet it goes with everything!

Silkies, here are a few of my favorite Monochromatic pieces. The last two are my two newest giant Dippers: Royal Tiger and Cliquetis

Your collection of monos are all brilliant my dear sparkle. I always think of bright colorways for you. You and IF rock the brights. Speaking of, where is our girl IF?

Here's my contribution. I love, love this scarf!

No wonder - it looks amazing on you gemini!

And here is my today's monochromatic : Tigre Royal cw4 bronze/caramel/kaki. Pegase, if you can hear me, for once it's NOT your fault! I don't like big cats on my scarves, let alone the point the tiger is hidden when folded, and, and... resistance was futile, once more!

So surprised the Equateur did not work for you dear AnFang - is it too much white? Did you try on with charcoal top? The white edges can definitely be folded inwards, which is what I do when eating out LOL! TR in bronze is breathtaking. Now that is a color I cannot wear...;)

I realize my scarves are all pretty colorful, here is my most monochromatic:

This is the cool and calm Leila, and looks pretty with your blue dress scarf1!

Hello dear Scarfies!

Swooping by... I just want to drop off this pic of my current favorite monochrome GM:

Le Jardin de Leila CW 06

Thank-you for letting me share!

Swoop to your hearts content Markova! We have missed your beautiful photos and silks! Your rock this Leila twin to seton's!

Monochromatic of the day...Trophees de Venise, 90 cm

Today is a day to celebrate...the return of the ONLY Texas-based team that I can get behind 100.1%, the Dallas Stars, to the greatest sports tournament of all. THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS! Go Stars!

I missed this several pages back John - this is the one colorway I sought for quite a while. It looks terrific on you.

happy hump day, scarfys.
from the archives - the monochromatic chants du henne

Such a classic and unique colorway - doesn't it remind of Leila in the red/pink twill version too? It looks superb on you.

Finally some breathing room to take a few snaps. Mousselines have been my weakness. Here is Bolduc with the very ubiquitous Uniqlo Keith Haring tee. I love those arty tees, but mostly I love the price! I forgot to say, it is more the opposite of monochromatic, but at least it is one color!

And thanks rosenrot, pegase, sparkle, chestnut and Anfang for your kind compliments!

Thank you, Lanit!

TY, both :smile1:
Rosamonde, i hope that one will come ur way.

I am quite fond of Astarte & S, esp. in the finesse. Is that the navy cw? Looks lovely on you.

Seton, you are brilliant at identifying H scarves! This is the black and silver-beige CW, and a real workhorse scarf. Goes with any color top/s and a black bottom. BAM! Instant pulled-together look. :graucho:

lanit, you look marvelous in your blue and white Licorne! The contrast is terrific. What color bags will you wear it with? It's been such a wonderful shawl season so far. Sorry for the late comments, I've had lots of wonderful visitors again. There was snow in upstate New York today. :smile1:

Mod shot 2

paula24jen, Caraibes is a scarf we don't see enough of and the colors of yours are just beautiful.

Well, that was enough critter hunting.... time to go back and hang out with my friend the monkey!

Great kritter hunting, sophieg - many thanks for the detailed shots.

Scarfies,
As you all knew I hunted a Jardin de Leila coffret back in January during my trip to FSH. I was seriously debating between the blue colorway and another colorway, ended up with the blue because I love the porcelain vibe. But with my hoarding habit, you know that ain't stay for long. With H, when in doubt, buy BOTH. So here's what I hunted down to complete my greed.
Jardin de Leila coffret with its matching scarf in cw 14 Blanc/Vert/Brun (which has a lot of hunter green and fungi green along with multitude of browns).

Gorgeous, Chestnutty! Leila is an amazing desing and you've picked two beautiful, and very different, colorways. Love how you're wearing the silks around your neck too. :woohoo:

I don't understand why I wear these two scarves the most. Maybe it's because I like dark-coloured clothes & these two go well with them!

They certainly do look very nice on you, D Lee, no wonder you reach for them frequently.

And here is my most worn these time, Patch! Sorry to spam this thread with this one, but as a "most worn", the box was on the top of the pile. That says all!

Love this on you, Anfang, and wasn't this shawl a surprise when you put it on? Or I may not be remembering the story accurately. At any rate, it's fabulous. :smile1: edited to say that now that I've read farther along, I see that it was your SA who suggested that you try it. She was absolutely right.

94107, Kelly_76, lanit, perfumegirl01, rosamonde, nana845, Pegase, sparklelisab, Anfang - Thank you guys for sharing my joy for the blue moussie. And thanks for not laughing at yet another blue scarf from me :hugs:.

Birkinmary - You have such great taste. The pairings are all perfect and exquisite! Please share more!
Rosamonde - Your Naissance d'une Idee pairing is so too pretty! Finesse designs seem to be your arena!
Seton - Such a pretty colorway of Chants du Henne. I believe you're twins with Papertiger? Mine is in mastic and light green, need to dig it out of the pile soon.

hermesguy - beautiful scarf in a beautiful neutral colorway. Looks great on you!
Sparkleliab - keep your L'ivresse de l'infini in a safe please, or else it's gone and you'll know where it goes to, LOL.
Geminibags - Very pretty scarf and looks great with your skin tone.
Anfang - I'm sure we'll never have to compete over a scarf as you (as well as Lisa and Pegase) wear mustard so well. But we're cousins on this tiger though :graucho:.
Scarf1 - I read your Hawaii scores on the Spring '14 Scarves thread. Oh dear we're both blue lovers! Your blue tops look very vibrant too!
Markova - Long time no see on this thread. Welcome back and thanks for sharing your Leila shawl with us. Love the ray of sunshine on the photo!
Lanit - Is there any mod pic from you that is not fabulous? I think I have a similar patterned top but from a different brand. Perhaps I can be a copycat, LOL.
Crochetbella - Great twilly-bag pairing. Reminded me spring is here when I saw your canvas GP. So casual chic! When I ever have the $$ to buy a H bag, a canvas/box ghilies K would be my first target.

I love this story as the opposite of Chestnutty' s mousse hunt - the tiger hunted you, Anfang!

Loving everyone's monochromes!

Grey glasses, too! Wow, you have raised the monochromatic bar to the hilt, hermesguy!

Critters, Take II
I'm joining the "Au Cour de la Vie" club in this thread ...
In the " Spring 2014..." Thread I had already posted CW 17...
This is CW 15 (with "mastix" as a ground color, a very light warm gray... The colors composition (and juxtaposition) from this particular CW, is so incredible. It achieves so much plasticity and depth... I am speechless each time I see it...

I am too, Pegase, it's very striking. Clearly a pattern one needs multiples of. ;)

Not on theme but one of the rare occasions I get to wear silks. Jersey 90 Mors et Gourmettes with Brazil enamel scarf ring.

Gorgeous, ms piggy, so very chic!

Here is one of my "workhorse" scarves and I need some help. (Borrowed the pic from HSCI as it is still too dark and rainy...OMG it's snowing? again?!!) Anyway, I usually wear this scarf folded on the diagonal etc. but I am wondering if anyone has any tricks to show off the middle of the edges (where the three shells are and the "shield" on the fourth side?
"Ballade Oceane" Julia Abadie 1999

This is a beauty, Jahna! If you try any of the new tying strategies, would you post them please? :smile1:

Silkies,

Can I share just a few more critters?

When I had the honor to meet Kermit Oliver a few months ago, I asked him what his favorite animal was in his latest design, and he said a "sheep." The scarf was hanging right behind him, and I had not recalled a sheep, and I looked perplexed as I scanned it quickly and he chuckled, "there are no sheep in this one." Trivia Question: KO's favorite animal--a sheep. He talked about the symbolic importance to him. Ladybaga has the Ultimate KO Sheep hanging in her home---she will have to post it again. General Wooly I think we named him.
Forgive the ramble--KO asked me my favorite animal on the scarf, and I said, "hands down, the skunk." He giggled. So here is my favorite KO critter.

What a wonderful story, sparkle. And how lucky that you got to meet Kermit Oliver. And made him giggle!!

This workhorse kept my neck warm through three days of hiking and tent-camping on the coast, DH's choice of activities for his B-Day. (This in the airport hotel bathroom on the way home...) BdeG will get a nice bath when she gets home.

Terrific colors, 94107, and talk about a workhorse - wow!!

I love the work horse theme. Such a sensible one!
Here's one of my two work horses. This is Passiflores.
(Can you tell it's still wintry around here?)

I don't know which is lovelier, nana, your Passiflores or your glowing hair color!

In honor of April's fool (April's fish in France: kids hang paper fish on the back of people), I'm wearing Rencontre océane, mousseline GM. I twisted the basic bias fold because it was bulky, and made a criss-cross knot with my plastic salmony-pink-ish belt-buckle-as-ring.

This is looking very nice on you, Melora!

Silkies, I have come over to the blue side--slowly but truly. This moussie is the first and only silk my dh has bought for me and since I have worn it (according to my spreadsheet) the most of all my silks--I declare it my work horse. (yuck--sorry about straggly hair)

Yay, sparklelisab, the power of blue has gotten to you too!

Posting two of my workhorses, both CSGMs unsurprisingly given the chilly climate! :p
First one is Sequences, one of my first shawls and from the Men's section no less. The second one is LdR that just works with everything. Please excuse the messy knots, after a long day at work I don't really care how they end up.

Great, go with everything shawls, Nico. Twins with you on that LdR. :smile1:

Still one of my two most loved and worn H scarves. This was well worn when I bought it , so I have no qualms about wearing it wherever , whenever . It's very tough and hasn't complained at all .

Brins d'Or GM cashmere

Hi frou frou! Such a pretty scarf on you and adore your big warm coat!

workhorse, eh?

here is one of mine. because it's white border, I can wear it thruout the yr. it's also one of two CS GMs that I always take on my trips (the other is Grand Fonds).

Hah, seton, I had that Bolduc shawl and wore it all the time until my DD 'borrowed' it and wore it all the time, until her boyfriend 'borrowed' it and wore it all the time....so don't let anyone get their paws on yours! But you could let me get my paws on your GF???? :graucho:
