I am not on theme today but I wanted to move into some patriotic colors as we approach the 4th here in the U.S.

Lamest theme stretch ever: artists create beautiful depictions of birds! Here is a painting of a crane I saw once and still covet.

Beautiful! I always think of this as a fall scarf but you have opened my eyes to other possibilities @Jereni. I hope you have fun plans for the 4th...

Hopping in for a quick drop of a new grail! Oh how I love it so much :hbeat: 💘

I wanted it loose for heat. I put the twilly charm on the top tail to hold the tie down so the silken tie wouldn’t loosen. And it worked all afternoon!

Since joining H silk life in 2018 it took me to 2023 to get a hold of the pastel anglais for the price of not my kidney. I actually found two pastel that year. One I paid a lot more for and one for below retail. So I sold the costlier one to recoup my money. And took to 2025 to get the red for the similar lack of organ payment. My top two cw’s.
Congratulations, you found it!! So pleased for you and happy to be twins finally.

We are back to sunny weather and the temperature is a nice 72 degrees F. This morning the dogs and I walked in the town's community garden and enjoyed a new small apple grove and the butterfly way station, mostly the milkweed is full of fat bees drunk on pollen... SOTD was the lovely Ivresse au Vent worn, quite unwittingly but very serendipitously, with my butterfly ring... sisters with @CoastalCouture!

I love the texture of your top with this scarf. It just enhances the scarf in every way!
Hello and good morning,
If I were to wear a scarf today, it would be this one. Very proud to be twins with @Redbirdhermes , @LKBNOLA , @Cookiefiend and I think some others.View attachment 6195417View attachment 6195418
I never saw this mousse for sale in UK and I missed out but it gives me such joy to see it on you and @Redbirdhermes.
Good morning, Scarfies and happy Monday! Our theme, I noticed, is titled "Flights of Fancy" and you can't get much more fanciful, fantastic or mythic than a winged horse! Here for a summer day in and out of a/c is my 140 Le Pégase d'Hermès Chemise. The web site says "Similar to a blouse, this silk wash scarf with fine pastel stripes is soft to touch and perfect for summer." Perhaps I will try this a top on a different occasion. Meanwhile, I just adore this design, and I love pairing linen and summer silk!

Gorgeous. Pegasus, stripes and silk wash - what’s not to love?
YES!! Does anyone know how to get rid of it??

On topic: Grand Theatre Nouveau CSGM today - these shawls are perfect for summer A/C on the commuter trains…

I LOVE this cw. It’s like sorbet on a summer’s day. Perfection.
Wanted to wear this darling d’Orphee today which does not get nearly enough wear. Although I only managed to keep it on my neck for about as long as it took to snap this pic, due to the heat.

Reasonably on theme with all its adorable avian characters.

So lovely, Jereni. I’m still wishing I could have found a cw to suit me. Beautiful.
It seems like it’s one of those days when only goofy pictures of myself are possible, so here’s a goofy picture 😆 My parrot scarf and clematis “Tie Dye” look awesome in any case! View attachment 6195499View attachment 6195500
I love these photos! I also have clematis in the garden but yours are gigantic!
Mousseline and feather on this Brazil today!

Absolutely stunning in this red breeze of a scarf.
A big welcome to @xincinsin as she takes control of the tiller this week...I also am a member of the crew aboard the newest cotton scarf. Sharing the white Bord à Bord (my favorite despite the perils) styled very simply: a cotton scarf on a cotton shirtdress. I took my regular selfie window mod shot and then thought I should at least try to get some ocean in the background.

And Elias Kafouros is not the only one coming up with witty names for boats! I saw this one on my Sunday perambulations and had to take a photo! Every summer I reread the novel that is subject of the pun so it was a "when worlds collide" moment for me. Alas I was not wearing the scarf at the time, though I am tempted to go back and take a scarf on site photo with the book in my hand, too...

So crisp and summery. I adore the white too but I know I would never wear it between the staining and creasing I’m exposed to.
On theme today with the delightful fish-to-bird metamorphosis of De la Mer au Ciel.

Today’s bracelet stack - the diamond crossover bangle is a new-in, and amazingly, the vendor allows you to wear it in order to properly evaluate, and still return if needed. Is it a winner, do we think?

View attachment 6195854
I love your styling. I don’t know how you do it.
SOYD Paddock mousseline

View attachment 6195869

This was the first moussie I ever bought, and it was instant love the day it arrived. Like having an elegant, floaty little cloud around the neck.
Gorgeous!
I love your Bocage, @Croisette7! Sharing mine. I call this my Angry Birds scarf

Flights of fantasy - take a short romp through any culture's mythology and you will find winged beasts of all types: tigers, lions, serpents, horses - all have had wings added, feathered or leathery.

Mankind is fascinated by flight. The gav Reves et Raisons takes inspiration from the tale of Icarus who donned artificial wings and flew too close to the sun. Worn here with a Mineraux gav. You can see Icarus' wing stretched across the triangle displayed, a reminder both of his father's genius and his own recklessness.

H has winged horses in many scarf designs, the most iconic being Pegase.
View attachment 6195873
My 2nd last scarf acquisition, just before Bord a Bord, was made because of the illusion of wings. Yes, the illusion
Dallet's Mustangs has been reinterpreted a few times. In the original, the horses ran wild and free across the 90cm square.
View attachment 6195878
The latest incarnation was a modern interpretation using a very traditional technique. In the Marble version, the colours stream across the horses creating a vivid sense of motion. To my bedazzled eyes, some of those horses appear as if they are sprouting wings and about to take flight.
View attachment 6195868
You can find mythical winged creatures in some other designs where you might not expect them.

Parures du Vent has many hood ornaments with wings, a symbolic representation of cars which go whoooosh...
View attachment 6195875
In De la Mer au Ciel, fish transform magically into birds.
View attachment 6195871
The most striking winged angel appears in Lumieres de Paris.
View attachment 6195876
And here I am with a pair of wings  wearing Grand Prix du Faubourg, a scarf with lots of action in flight and fast cars whizzing down the avenue.
View attachment 6195877
That pink Pegase
Tapis Persans mousseline is my scarf of the day.

View attachment 6195926
Wow. That yellow just makes this mousseline a knockout.

Hi all you beautiful people of Scarflandia, hope you are having a great summer!:coolio:

I've been MIA for a while (life, and trying to avoid the temptation, from all the eye-candy shared here). But, I simply had to share this long-coveted grail-mail I just received, as I knew (only) you would get my exitement!

Parures de Samouraïs in Marine/Rose/Bleu Glacier, NWT and only slightly above retail. Very quick try-on, as it's way to hot for scarves here today, but it is simply the most beautiful scarf I have ever seen, and I am soo happy to finally have this!

Hello,
Scarf mail today and very happy to be a new twin to @GloWW0rM with Dans les Bras de Séléné! When I unpacked, I was at first a little disappointed with the background colour but after trying some knots with different tops I see clearly why H has chosen this colour mix, every other background colour would have been less harmonious. What I love the most is the beautiful pattern mix (William Morris!), the somewhat retro vibe of this cw, the yellow owl and the yellow itself and the fact that I can combine it with any spice colour I have. Not so good on white though and not at all on grey. I'll surely keep it, I don't have anything similar.View attachment 6196175View attachment 6196176View attachment 6196178
I totally agree - I was sure that background would wash me out but it works! I also don’t have anything like this because it isn’t my usual jewel ones. Beautiful on you.

I know you’ve struggled with this scarf but it’s magic on you.
Good Morning, everyone and happy Thursday. Wearing (and showing) some beautiful blues today for a beautiful blue-loving friend...

Hydrangeas doing their thing in my garden...

Wow at the hydrangeas and DuJa! Both so pretty.
I'm sporting both birds and cotton for this warm summer day.

Flamingo Party cotton pareo is my scarf of the day. Thank you to DH for helping with today's mod shots.
Right, I’m in summer holiday heaven with this pareo. I’ll have a margarita with that, please

**I can’t believe it. After 3 months of being 50+ pages behind, I’ve caught up** I can actually comment on posts that are not practically archive posts!

Thank you, GloWW0rM and isn't it funny, we two looking/being so different in age, hair/colour and certainly style, we combine this scarf differently, look completely differently with it and yet it works for both of us and, I think, pretty well.😍

I was planning on working my way through all my most recent acquisitions, fairly certain that even if there were no birds or feathers, I could figure out a connection somehow

Well, this scarf, which came to me at around the same time as Marble Mustangs, is from a previous season, but this cw took months (:faint:) to arrive at my home H. And when I took a good look at the design, I realized that after the bunny and the gorgeous poppies, the third reason I had for buying Precious Paradise was this lovely peacock fanning out its tail in one corner.

Peacocks, phoenix and many other pretty birds flaunt their colourful plumage on many H scarves. But how about the more common birds? Or birds without flamboyant feathers? Let's celebrate a couple of those today!

Domestic fowl...
For the Lunar Year of the Cockerel, I once did a collage of cocks which I found in Chanteclair, Fairytales, Reverie Pompeienne, Jeune Coqs and Les Coqs.
PicsArt_02-01-09.36.55.webp
Urban pests...
The dratted pigeons which befoul cars and sidewalks and once overran Trafalgar Square.
Les Triples

Artistic inspirations...
Cranes, graceful and monochrome like an inkwash painting.
Chaque Rencontre est Unique

Speaking of monochrome, one of my favourite phoenixes is the 70cm MP Tattoo
PicsArt_05-08-11.23.12.webp
And of course arguably the most famous version of MP is the anthracite cw which appears black and white, but in reality has shades of grey, cream, green and aubergine.

I started this post with a colourful peacock, so let's complete it with another peacock, this time in black penwork on creamy white: the beautiful Jardin de Leila. Can you spot the peacock with its tail feathers fully on display?
