A very Merry Christmas Day to all my beautiful TPF friends! And a very warm and grateful thank you to @Karenska and @Living.la.vida.fifi for hosting last week and this. I am thrilled to share a grail for me that also is 1) a crossover scarf from Holiday Week (and even from Purple Week!) and 2) this completes my collection of four De Passage Scarves. I will post the set as part of this week's theme as two of the four came to me in this calendar year. I hope that whether you are celebrating the 7th night of Chanukah or Christmas Day, you found an orange box in your pile of gifts much like the ones on my scarf!
Editing to add the title! This is, as @Redbirdhermes noted, De Passage a Moscou.

Oh, dear, how absolutely beautiful. Congratulations on the accomplishment of collecting four of these beauties.

A lovely and festive look @Cookiefiend!

These are beautiful-- I am pretty sure I have a Marwari Did Dye on account of your mod shots @Maedi! So my compliments (especially adore the light one) and thank you :flowers:

This is such a nice tradition and I love seeing it! Can't wait to see your Acte III @Karenska. Most important, thank you so much for hosting such a beautiful week of Holiday scarves.
Thank you, dear LKBNOLA and happy holidays.

A very happy Christmas, 7th night of Chanukah or holiday to all the scarf friends, sisters, twins, multiple twins, future twins and scarf-lovers that make up this wonderful community of silken friends. I am so grateful for your warmth, kindness and generosity and wish you all health, happiness and many orange boxes in your futures!

Yesterday ended up being a day trapped indoors with the ice storms we’re having, and no H: we stayed cozy in cheery red plaid instead! Keeping with a Christmas tradition, I did indulge in a little vintage Nuit de Noel extrait, along with our Christmas eve dinner. Pics below:

And, for @LKBNOLA, @Teaforparrots and all our other bakers, here’s the cake I spent half a day baking the day before. Not a festive cake, per se, but traditional for us: I make it every year as it’s my husband’s favourite. It’s a recipe I developed over the years, that’s somewhere between a carrot cake and a passion cake, with a few additional elements thrown in. Like Nola’s it’s made with oil instead of butter, and generous quantities of rum soaked dates, pineapple, pistachios, pecans, walnuts, carrots, cardamom and spices. Covered in a cream cheese icing and layered with ginger jam. It takes most of the day to prepare, but it’s worth it.

In honour of the day, I am making more of an effort today. There was some orange under the tree, so this may be a multi-scarf day! For @LKBNOLA, @Maedi, @Karenska and all the other Clair de Lune sisters and twins, here’s how I started this wonderful Christmas Day:

And here is how I am enjoying the middle of it, thanks to a lovely gift of a pristine, new to me, Laboratorie de Temps, a longed-for grail for me with its beautiful blues.

And, I managed to match my manicure with both scarves (a happy accident)!. a deep purple with pink and purple micro-glitters and a gold hologram confetti top coat. It makes me think of a sparkling cosmos, and is very apropos with CDL!

Thanks to @Karenska for hosting festive week, and to @Living.la.vida.fifi for a spectacular introduction this morning. I am floored by those stunning pictures and silks! I hope to reply to the many beautiful and inspirational posts and pictures over the next few days. Sending my thoughts and we’ll wishes to all of you in this wonderful silken community in the meantime.

Oh, Lellabelle, beauty, intrigue, deliciousness and cozyness abound. I am so curious how those fragrances smell, my imagination is running. And the cake looks and sounds délicieux. Joyeux fêtes.

That cake looks amazing and so do you! :)

Absolutely. We made Lebkuchen with the same intent.
So true! Sadly, as of this year the Limburger cheese I used to give my father every Christmas as a taste of his homeland is no longer available anywhere near me. I’ll always be able to make Lebkuchen or stollen though. Making sure to toss my scarf somewhere safe before entering the kitchen of course… :-)

Oh, no, that is hard when these specialties disappear. I have never succeeded with Stollen and am intimidated. My dear aunt who has sent me some for years hasn't been able in the past years. And a definite yes to baking without scarves, and to stay on topic. Your new earrings are gorgeous by the way.

Save The Best For Last: Your favorite purchases this year, new or vintage

Happy Sunday and a very Merry Christmas, my dear scarfie friends!

I wish you all much health, joy, and blessings this holiday season and a bounty of silken treasures in the coming year. I wish to thank our dear @Karenska for hosting a fabulous week of holiday favorites. And, my apologies for being absent for most of it as my week began with a series of unexpected challenges which put a halt to all of my holiday preparations. Through it all, I was finally able to get home and table ready for the holidays. Here are a few festive images which include the chocolate streusel coffee cake we are about to devour.

So, here we are wrapping up 2022 on SOTD with what is my favorite week on the forum for we finally have a chance to tally up all our silk acquisitions of the year and share our favorites. I personally plan to show all of the scarves that entered my collection in 2022 and, if you so wish, I invite you to do the same.

This year I purchased a variety of twill 90s, giant silks, 70cms, mousselines and CSGMs. I also purchased one giant triangle and tried a new-to-me format: the maxi twilly. This was a year of discovery of new designs, experimentation with new formats and fulfillment of a few coveted Grails.

A trend in my collecting habits that I noticed is that this year I gravitated towards adding multiples of a specific design. I also noticed I had a versatile year that incorporated wide varieties of formats and styles.

I kick off the week with my favorite 90cm twill design from the 2022 collections: En Liberté. This fabulous piece, especially for the dog lovers, is incredibly versatile and wearable. I purchased the first CW below in the summer, and was delighted to find the aubergine CW this morning under the Christmas tree.

View attachment 5677175

This year one of of my all-time Grails entered my collection: the marvelous Doigts de Fee in this coveted CW.
View attachment 5677176

Speaking of Grails, this year I was able to find an extraordinary mousseline that I had almost lost hope of owning: the exquisite changeant La Rosee
View attachment 5677179

Since I live in a tropical climate, I have abstained from purchasing CSGMs lately, but I did add two long-time favorites to my collection this year. I had plans to wear one of my classic holiday scarves to Christmas Mass this morning, but we are having a cold front as the temps have dipped into the 40s, so it is the perfect opportunity to wear one of them: the magnificent, festive Early America. Not a holiday design, but one that I find appropriate for the day.

I am looking forward to this fun and exciting week as we recap our treasured acquisitions of 2022 and share our recent marvels. I expect nothing short of a dazzling parade. And, as always, I encourage all to share our actual SOTDs. It is a great honor and pleasure to host this wonderful week as we ring out another silken year together
Fabulous intro!!! Merry Christmas to all who celebrate and Happy last night of Hanukkah!

So I started the year with my birthday gift from DH:

And ended the year with navy Gene Kelly under the tree but forgot to take a mod shot in all of today’s excitement!

As I was looking through my scarves this morning I realized that because of my complexion and color preferences, nearly all of them could count as festive scarves! I selected my weekend in space scarf to go with the fabulous earrings that were under the tree, and because I could probably use a weekend space holiday to recover after Christmas :-;

The earrings are fab @Teaforparrots and your shirt matches perfectly with the pops of raspberry in the scarf
Great to have you back with the most stunning new scarves! Good therapy, indeed!
Thank you so much @Stylehound :flowers:

Exquisite with the pearls !
Thank you @Coco2606!
Forgive me Scarflandia for I have not posted in weeks! Life has been getting in the way (many of you can relate to ill parents, visiting relatives, the passing of a beloved pet, the addition of new pets) and once a day gets away from me it’s impossible to keep up beyond hitting the like button. Le sigh.

Things are settling down and my heavens I have enough fodder to post several new-ins every day this week (three cheers for retail therapy!).

I started the year adding L’Ivresse, DUJA and Premier Chant

You look stunning in your scarves and your gorgeous jewelry and manicure @Lellabelle! Your new Laboratoire is so beautiful and vibrant-- what a lovely gift and what a wonderful addition to your collection. Your bottles of scent are just beautiful(I wish we could, by some magic, smell them through a post!) and your cake sounds simply wonderful. They make something on Nantucket called a Morning Glory muffin that has a similar though much more modest list of ingredients-- I imagine you could call your cake a Christmas Glory cake with all the goodness you have baked into it!
Oh, dear, how absolutely beautiful. Congratulations on the accomplishment of collecting four of these beauties.
Thank you @Maedi-- from the first moment I saw De Passage a Paris on @Croisette7, I was intrigued and determined! Lucky for me there are only the four, or I would be in big trouble...

Hello all. So wonderful to catch up and love all your photos for weeks. Covid took me down for 8 days in bed, and several days after that where I was only half with-it So haven’t been able to contribute. I was bummed to miss my favorite purple color week too  .
This week I wore my gav of decoupages. I love to wear this during the holidays. It’s very festive. Sorry for the awful photo. And today I wore my special find this year of Noel au 24 Faubourg. I did not have to sell a kidney for it either which is always good! Both these scarves spark nostalgia for me. Decoupages for the paper cutting which my grandmother had samples of hung up on her walls when I was growing up, and my mother ( an artist) did as an art form. And Noel for the ornaments on the scarf that my grandmother had identical ones of from Germany. I now own them and bring them out for Christmas.
