I’m staying home all day today, so showing a few from the archives...

The blackest of the black and one of my most special silks precisely because of its black CW is La Voie Lactee as it is the “glow-in-the-dark” edition, which was only issued in black. Yes, DH was puzzled when he found me in the bowels of a closet testing it out when I first got it

And, black Les Tresors du Nil

Though I am lucky to own the special edition Promenade a Versailles that resembles this black Flanerie so much, I always longed for this CW and was delighted to have found it last year after originally passing it up.

And, now for a couple of scarves that are not black, but with spectacular black details on the borders...

Such great imagery! I’m sure we would have all done something similar!:flowers:

SOTD Brides Mini- which I thought would read as a darker scarf than it does...
(scarf ring is a leather wrap bracelet from a talented equestrian artisan in lieu of shorter H ring)

Dear Croisette, this is truly STUNNING!!

Thank you for the compliments and kind comments on yesterday's scarf, Les Toits de Paris. As I related, I was extremely fortunate to find that scarf and I have probably used up all my scarf hunting luck for the year in the first ten hours.

Today I'm wearing my black Aux Pays des Epices with a black druzy quartz pendant that was a gift from DH.

This is the back of Ors Bleus d’Afrique. It’s not that easy to see in the photo, but the gold is slightly metallic.

Gooorgeous! All of them!! ❤️ Sisters with you on Tampon Graphique. Love this shawl to bits! Your CW is such a wonderful neutral!

In my world, it refers generally to the period when Hermés was staid, predictable and a favorite of the carriage trade, i.e., when it lived on East 57th Street in its narrow storefront. When did the house pass from that period...hmm? About the time Barney's moved from downtown to the Upper East Side? (giving myself away here as not world-travelled). Or maybe it was eclipsed just before the $300.00 barrier was broached in the realm of 90 cm. Prior to contrast hems and before the panoply of countless screens of colors upon colors. To quote a famous jurist, "I know it when I see it".

When H was on 57th st, i remember 90 cm scarves were 225 usd, i think  That was when there was a large men’s dunhill on 57th too. With bolts of fabric for custom men’s suits. The old school napoleon scarf with bees was popular. . . I no longer think of ex libris, Bdg. Springs as old school bc of the many newer iterations. Perhaps Voitures de transformation was old school, but i think even that was reisssued as a CSGM.
