My contribution to the wildlife theme. Some photos are from the archive as nowadays I don't get to wear scarves that often now that we have nowhere fun to go. You might be able to tell that Alice Shirley and Jan Bajtlik are some of my favourite designers.

All spectacular! And, I am your twin on both Bajtlik silks and the Jaguar Qurtzal! All are extremely wearable and versatile

Thank you, Anna. Yesterday's pearls are Sea of Cortez pearls from Mexico. My local jeweler, who created the custom pendant, retired last year. Fortunately, I got wise a few years ago and realized that instead of telling myself that, "Someday I'll do this", that I needed to actually do those things that I wanted to do. I think of him every time I wear one of his miniature pieces of art.

What a gorgeous piece!

Where the Wild Things Are .... in dreams.
Edouard Baribeaud (b. 1984, Versailles) has created two designs for Hermès that feature wildlife in a dream or dreamy context, Acte III La Clairiere and La Danse des Amazones.
Here is one of his dreamy works, a watercolor on paper (not intended as a scarf, as far as I know, but I sure wish it were :graucho:), titled Metamorphosis at Dawn, 2017. Can you imagine how beautiful a carré would be in this design? :hbeat:View attachment 4967300

Acte III, a depiction of Shakespeare’s masterpiece in the act of being performed. Note the highly stylized ‘lion’ played by the rustic character Snug the Joiner. The adorable donkey is the bewitched Nick Bottom, Snug’s buddy. Kind of a dream within a dream.

La Danse des Amazones, another interesting composition with a dreamlike landscape where some Amazons and wild cats enter the scene.

This wraps up this week’s theme for me (although we always squeeze in a few at the end, right? :winkiss:), and it’s been a great pleasure to host and see all your amazing and wild wildlife scarves. I have been on SOTD alot this week, but somehow I know I’ve missed some of your gifts, so a shoutout to you all :yahoo: and thank you so very much for making this an extraordinary week!
It was a great week! So sorry that I was not able to participate towards the end as life got a bit complicated... Your Baribeaud silks are fantastic

animal prints today! First time out for this gorgeous colorway of an amazing design ( only been collecting for under a year). And believe it or not I actually had on a lovely lip color too, but got worn off w the mask ://. This is a perfect pink! I struggle w pink because I sometimes feel like it is a youthful color and I sometimes feel ridiculous in the color. But not these tones! No idea what knot this is lol. I just love the corners with the animal prints on the border and delicate flowers and wanted to highlight it all .
and twins with Lanit today I see! (don’t know how to link you :-)

I agree with you about the special shade of dusky pink of this FOSA... I am also your twin and I love it. It is both subtle, yet impacting... Looks beautiful on you!

One of the things I wanted to try this year is wear my Twillies more instead of just using them as bag handle protectors. Got a Twilly ring and now trying to play with it! Decided to use some on theme Jungle Love Love Twillies thanks to all the very kind words you wonderful ladies gave me for my previous post

Hmm you really can’t see much of the cat on a single loop...

...what if I try to play double? View attachment 4967482
...interesting but I am thinking that there gotta be a better way to do the top connection! Will keep playing as my weekend entertainment...that, and watching everyone else’s scarves!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
Great way to wear the twillies! Fabulous design in this format

All great, but simply love the Les Zebres in this CW and the knot works so well for the design

SOTD, not on this week’s, but View attachment 4968050View attachment 4968051last week’s topic: La Vie du Grand Nord. The polarbear and its hunter... My brooch, which is one that the indigenous people ( =samer) wear with their traditional clothes in northern Scandinavia, resembles the snowflake in the midst. I like the idea of connection between the two.
Love the pin/scarf connection you made as well... I do notice the dialogue here... Beautiful CW of this fab design

Good morning my scarfie friends! (At least it is morning here. :P ) It's been a WONDERFUL wild things week with many truly spectacular scarfs coming out to play. And now ...it's that time again for our new theme! (Though I am certain there are many crossovers you can make use of today!)

This week we'll be delving deeeeeeep in to the color black.

24 Jan 2021 Darkest Before Dawn: Black, Grey and Dark scarves, or worn with dark colours

Black you say? What can I do with black?

In color theory, black is not the absence of color, but rather the combination of all colors at once. The color we know as black is the absorption of all the individual colors of the light spectrum as opposed to the reflection of all colors (white). Actually, color itself is made by the reflection of the one portion of the light spectrum in an object and the absorption of all the others.

And you may say "Well, that is interesting, but how are we going to get through a full week of darks and blacks?" Well, hold my beer...

My friends...let me introduce you to a favorite picture of mine. ( I made it last time we did black week. ) I give you the "black-spectrum".

Black tends to be considered the color of power, sophistication, elegance, drama, mystery and also sadness. Although I will call it moodiness here for our purposes.

Without further ado, let's gt creative with our grey and blacks this week!

Full black on black with Lucky Stripes men's cotton losange (and full mystery and drama with the McQueen t-shirt).

Blue and deeep black leather ended maxi twilly on deep green for some black on color action.

Enjoy Black Week everyone! :dothewave:
Great intro with truly wonderful examples... Love the pattern on pattern of the first pic. This is so impacting when the color palette of scarf and top are similar as you show here

At the end of the school year a Star Wars exhibit came to town and a school bus took the 4th graders to see it. My 5th grade son was invited along as a special guest. He wondered aloud why only he got invited to go? I said they probably knew you liked Star Wars. Him: How did they know? Me: Your t-shirts probably clued them in.

This poster still hangs in his childhood bedroom.

I am going to need a Space Derby scarf.

In the meantime, today I'm channeling the Dark Side with Dame de Coeur. I know I'm twins with the amazing @momasaurus and probably others.

Star Wars fan over here as well... Well, we all are... My son’s Halloween costume throughout his childhood was either Anakin, Luke or a Stormtrooper... He also got every single Legos Star Wars kit for Christmas. So, I totally relate.
Your DdC is fabulous... great colors
