I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday! I see the theme this week it black and I'm loving these beauties, but it's dark and rainy where I am so I thought I'd pop out some color. I'm new to this thread so I hope it's allowed

This is one of my grail scarfs - Jungle Love in the 90 size and the rose, vert, and jaune colorway.
Brings out your gorgeous green eyes!

Wonderful introduction, Bunnycat! It’s amazing what black and color can achieve. Formal in this case:View attachment 4968439

gorgeous indeed with this leather jacket, shrpthorn!

This is exactly what I do when traveling! A few scarves can really multiply the looks of a small carry-on capsule wardrobe. Staying sort of on topic with an archive pic of "pastel blacks" in De La Mer et Ciel.

beautiful colours, Langsam!

My very first ever CSGM was the black Jungle Love.....and so began my love affair with cashmere/silk.

A few BlackCSGMs.

How beautiful, Edaehnick!

Where the Wild Things Are .... in dreams.
Edouard Baribeaud (b. 1984, Versailles) has created two designs for Hermès that feature wildlife in a dream or dreamy context, Acte III La Clairiere and La Danse des Amazones.
Here is one of his dreamy works, a watercolor on paper (not intended as a scarf, as far as I know, but I sure wish it were :graucho:), titled Metamorphosis at Dawn, 2017. Can you imagine how beautiful a carré would be in this design? :hbeat:View attachment 4967300

Acte III, a depiction of Shakespeare’s masterpiece in the act of being performed. Note the highly stylized ‘lion’ played by the rustic character Snug the Joiner. The adorable donkey is the bewitched Nick Bottom, Snug’s buddy. Kind of a dream within a dream.

La Danse des Amazones, another interesting composition with a dreamlike landscape where some Amazons and wild cats enter the scene.

This wraps up this week’s theme for me (although we always squeeze in a few at the end, right? :winkiss:), and it’s been a great pleasure to host and see all your amazing and wild wildlife scarves. I have been on SOTD alot this week, but somehow I know I’ve missed some of your gifts, so a shoutout to you all :yahoo: and thank you so very much for making this an extraordinary week!

Thank you for hosting — and you are right Monsieur Baribeaud’s work is pretty much scarf-ready!

@Karenska we are on the same wavelength! Here are some snippets of my Baribeaud scarves:

And of course, the tiger of Acte III (or did we decide this was a lion too?):

Happy Caturday everyone!
I think that is a Tiger!

One of the things I wanted to try this year is wear my Twillies more instead of just using them as bag handle protectors. Got a Twilly ring and now trying to play with it! Decided to use some on theme Jungle Love Love Twillies thanks to all the very kind words you wonderful ladies gave me for my previous post

Hmm you really can’t see much of the cat on a single loop...
View attachment 4967481
...what if I try to play double? View attachment 4967482
...interesting but I am thinking that there gotta be a better way to do the top connection! Will keep playing as my weekend entertainment...that, and watching everyone else’s scarves!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

I really need to get double twillies and play with them! It seems like such a good idea.

Experimented with bows this week (trying to find some not-too-floofy options). I got swept up enjoying all the lovelies shared & meant to post more pics.

Here’s Dallet’s Les Zebres ll to contribute to the theme:

and wild rabbits in les Bles:

Off topic with SOTD Petits Chevaux, but taking my new lampwork glass gav ring for a spin:

Nice selection — thanks for sharing. I really like the bows, need to practice mine.

Sneaking in under the wire, archive pics of my two Dallets, the Equateur MT Cut and the Jungle Love Love twilly. Two of my favorite scarves because of their bright colors, in addition to the beauty of Dallet's designs.

What’s funny, I have both of those twillies (different CWs though) and didn’t even think about them for this week!

Last orange post, I promise. Beloved India. A tame elephant? View attachment 4967968

Beautiful!
SOTD, not on this week’s, but View attachment 4968050View attachment 4968051last week’s topic: La Vie du Grand Nord. The polarbear and its hunter... My brooch, which is one that the indigenous people ( =samer) wear with their traditional clothes in northern Scandinavia, resembles the snowflake in the midst. I like the idea of connection between the two.

Very interesting — thanks for sharing.
Good morning my scarfie friends! (At least it is morning here. :P ) It's been a WONDERFUL wild things week with many truly spectacular scarfs coming out to play. And now ...it's that time again for our new theme! (Though I am certain there are many crossovers you can make use of today!)

This week we'll be delving deeeeeeep in to the color black.

24 Jan 2021 Darkest Before Dawn: Black, Grey and Dark scarves, or worn with dark colours

Black you say? What can I do with black?

In color theory, black is not the absence of color, but rather the combination of all colors at once. The color we know as black is the absorption of all the individual colors of the light spectrum as opposed to the reflection of all colors (white). Actually, color itself is made by the reflection of the one portion of the light spectrum in an object and the absorption of all the others.

And you may say "Well, that is interesting, but how are we going to get through a full week of darks and blacks?" Well, hold my beer...

My friends...let me introduce you to a favorite picture of mine. ( I made it last time we did black week. ) I give you the "black-spectrum".

Black tends to be considered the color of power, sophistication, elegance, drama, mystery and also sadness. Although I will call it moodiness here for our purposes.

Without further ado, let's gt creative with our grey and blacks this week!

Full black on black with Lucky Stripes men's cotton losange (and full mystery and drama with the McQueen t-shirt).

Enjoy Black Week everyone! :dothewave:

Thanks for such an interesting intro! I am familiar with the Blackest Black, but the pastel black is new to me.

I am so behind and I think I have no hope of really catching up :) I am loving seeing new faces though!

I wore my Music Maker XXII today — honestly, it is my darkest scarf. I wore it to ride — it was super chilly today and cotton would have not cut it. I was trying to squeeze in my riding lesson before the rain started, so I am still half asleep in the photo :)

SOTD is C’est la fête, my darkest scarf. also have to try with a lighter top. when I joined this forum a year ago, I would not have thought it probable to pay a fair amount of money to wear a skeleton on a horse round my neck. See where I am a year later, thanks to the constant flow of photos here...
:roflmfao:
So so true...

Thank you, moma. My favorite styling technique is to match my top to one of the minor colors in the scarf. Since the color is already in there, the scarf is going to look fine with the top, even if the minor color is not visible in the final knot.
Great technique! I think we have a week coming up for this sort of styling advice? I hope so!

Beautiful!
