Introducing my new-to-me Faubourg by Night. This is another design that I was inspired to hunt down after seeing @xincinsin 's scarves. I adore the kaleidoscope effect of the design.

Love them all, but I feel that the graphics of Colliers are a tour de force of design… And L’Arbre de Vie is magical. i especially love this CW

Nature is full of patterns, from the snowflake, the veins on a leaf, in the wings of insects, and the patterns of a tiger’s pelt.

SOTD today may actually be on theme because among the toys are a rocking horse and drums! So rhythmic elements in the design even if not on the silk...I agree with @Agrume, it is the perfect holiday scarf. I almost only ever wear it in December!

Beautiful and beautifully tied, RBH. Replying to your follow-up comment on your love of red, red suits you to a T. I love red, too and recently purchased two red cashmere-silk sweaters, one a pullover and the other a v-necked cardigan. I love them both for their lovely fabric and the way I can pair so many scarves. Acte III with both sweaters and Balade en Berline losange with the cardigan.

Good morning, Lovely Scarfies! I have been trying not to post designs already posted but I can't resist showing my SOTE (planned for this evening as it is 79 F and 99% humidity here today on December 10!). Thanks to lovely Jan from @itsallgoode_hermes, I have this fab Colliers de Chiens! I let go my Colliers et Chiens because despite loving the pups, tying it was so hard that I never reached for it. BUT I badly wanted a CdC so here she is:

This is such a great design! So many fabulous anecdotal vignettes and so Parisian! Love this CW

Each compartment usually holds a small treasure and the eye of the viewer is led from one shelf to the next, allowing him or her to admire the beauty and craftmanship of the items.

I can see a similar structure in Promenade a Versailles: the straight lines interspersed with circles, the structure on the left mirroring that on the right, but with each defined space showing a different area of the palace.

Voitures de Dames shows a similar structure of straight and curved lines, with vignettes in each space. Sous Bois goes the organic route with the structure created from crisscrossing branches, some almost straight, others curving and weaving as in nature. Perspective is a special case: the structure is there but the spaces are left blank for the viewer's mind to fill with all imaginable possibilities.

The eightfold structure in Les Berlines, one of my fave designs, results in a pleasing visual harmony when worn using a simple bias fold.

Friyay! It’s been a bear of a week over in Cookie Land, so today I’m posting about serendipity.
The bias fold is one of my favorites - so easy and it allows the inside of the scarf to shine. But it also allows for serendipitous things to happen… the design sometimes matches up!

It's been a whirlwind week of grading and test video watching, interspersed with bead making and weaving, and I think it is finally drawing to a close now. I think I can almost say I might be able to focus on just 2 or 3 things til January now, but I'm going to need a few days of sleep first.


These guys seem to all fit for this week..

I don't seem to go that heavily for repetition in my scarves, but I think this Amours with its bell and cupid repeat on all four corners certainly counts.




And another radial design repeat with the circle of keys on Les Cles:




And Tout end Quilt may seem like a bundle of mish mash, but there are a lot of repeated leaf, tree and flower squares inside the apparent chaos.



ETA- I almost when I went back and looked at my post and thought I had a H t- shirt on in each pic and thought "what are the chances of me doing that in one week???" ...but only that last two...

Gorgeous cw, Rbh! It reminds me of the sparkling glitter inside snow globes!

I was inspired by another scarfie @FizzyWater to look for the teal/turquoise cw which a fave reseller fortunately had at a very decent price. Then a few months later, a red cw popped up in the bay, and weak-willed me can never say "No" to red (I also like the neutral cw but my credit card is made of sterner stuff and said NO )

They are older designs, and maybe more balanced? If that makes sense?

That was my first reaction, too @Cookiefiend but a) I like the contrast between a dynamic graphic design and a quiet coloration and b) CdC just has so much busy detail! And the black is more of a factor IRL. All good things!

That friendship knot works so well with that scarf, have a lovely evening!

-- it was lovely to hear live music/lecture/concert for the first time in what feels like forever! Masks and vax required but still wonderful!

There is absolutely nothing about this post that I DON'T absolutely love @xincinsin! Perspective creates a kind of cosmic vertigo in that colorway... beautiful but scary for an acrophobic like me!

such a serene colorway. lovely. and you are rocking that friendship knot. I will have to try. I have considered This scarf Cw before because I Love the graphics of the design and this light pink w bold blacks is so great. But I am trying hard to stick to my personal grail list. And felt I had my light pink grand theatre that I should not hit purchase when I have seen it. Regrets now tho

I have a hard time resisting pink and black combinations! Especially when gris perle is involved...But so many many times I have passed on a scarf and then seen it here and thought Darn! But there will likely be another if you really love it!
