I scarf friends. Spending the weekend in the city. Wearing my new to me Les Cavaliers d or purchased a few months ago. So grateful to Turnsurf for her assistance

Visited my H store today, a few months since my last visit. My dear SA had finally managed to find a long awaited SS 21 scarf, it was a wonderful surprise. Will post later.View attachment 5260179
Gorgeous colors - that purple is amazing!
My cellphone died overnight (RIP), so switching to my iPad for a few days. For those of you who might notice the change from my standard format.

SOTD is Fleurs de L’Opera. So many wonderful tunes come to mind from the operas literally written on the scarf. Carmen is definitely among my favorites. She has so much personality. Here is a famous aria from the opera.

 LOVE!
So pretty and lots of ribbons and rosettes and tassel! What a great choice!
The turn of the year is approaching and we are firming up the themes for 2022. If anyone would like to be a guest scarf mistress next year, drop one of the scarf mistresses a message. All are welcome!

And now, our next theme...

Ribbons, Bows and Lace
All manner of elaborate hats, clothes and decorative elements

In a nutshell, this week we are looking at embellishments. :coolio: And if there is one thing in which H scarf designers excel, it is the sheer detail they put into their artwork.

Ribbons can be found in many scarves, often sinuously curving and looping round the borders. This design for Air France shows two concentric circles of fluttering wavy ribbons round the turbine, perhaps a visual representation of the sound waves from the engine roaring.

Braid and fringes decorate the border of these two scarves, a reminder of the military subject of the design: Le Redoutable and L'Indomptable.

This design is probably the best example for our theme: the highly decorated horses of La Danse du Cheval Marwari. There are ribbons, bows, lace, bells and beads galore! What a glorious sight the performance must be!

Let's find our embellishments, scarfies! And if you want to amp up the glam with your own glitz and jewels, I say Go For It!
Lovely intro xincinsin! Marwari is a fabulous example!
Thank you, @xincinsin , for hosting yet another week of amazing scarves. Ribbons and Bows is one of those themes where I thought, at first, that I didn’t have any examples. Then I realized that any of the three scarves I brought along this weekend would work as crossover scarves, as they all had musical themes and decorative elements. Yesterday I wore Fleurs de L’Opera which has lovely ribbons and palms encircling the operatic flowers.

My scarf of the day is La Cle des Champs, with its delightful songbirds flitting around on decorative branches with a latticework frame.

Wonderful cw - and another excellent cross over! :dothewave:
Happy Holidays everyone! Been liking everyone‘s posts when I can. I’m away from my scarves still but here are two Archives of some adorned people with lace, hats, and ribboned purses and adorned horse riders in promenades de longchamps and promenades de Paris. I love these scenes of the past on Hermes scarves. Lots of frills on hats! I don’t have a full photo of paris scarf To show unfortunately. Also archive of The royal mews.

SOTD is Jeu des omnibus et dames blanches. Officially, I am on vacation, but it is really just another day of home office with a Zoom meeting during the whole afternoon and now the preparations for it.

What a wonderful pink!
A favourite design which I own in a number of cw is Doigts de Fee, depicting lace making equipment. I’m actually wearing the red version today as it’s very festive looking, the other colours are archive shots. (I also have a very well-used grey version but can’t find any mod shots).

An obi is a long *Decorative* belt (or *Ribbon*) to close your Kimono, they are tied either in a *Bow*, or in a *decorative* knot.
Ex Libris en Kimono, tied in a decorative knot, with my very decorative earrings!

So chic with your matching earrings!

Well- I don't know about you guys, but I have already been singing Xmas songs and switching out the lyrics to fit H for MrBCat.

For example, nothing beads Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby, but let's add some H. So I sing:

Me: "Santa Baby, slip some cashmere under the tree- for me.
Been an awful good girl...."

MrBCat: "You better start workin' a lot harder on that...."

Me: :giggle:

Here's the glorious Miss Eartha doing it right (tho the Miss Piggy version is cute too.... :roflmfao:)

And last week my mother and I went shopping (so she could look for a zip up velour house robe ( ) I heard the most awesome version of I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas and immediately began the hunt for it to download.

Of course, Hippopotamus starts with H and so does another H so now I sing in code...

"I want a (H)ippopotamus for Christmas. Only a (H)ippopotamus will do! No crocodiles. No rhinoceros(es). I only like... (H)ippopotamusses! " :roflmfao:

Here's the (IMO) best version by Lake Street Dive. It's not the original orchestration with the rather aggressive march cadence and whiny lyrics, but a very playful samba, so don't fear clicking on it!

I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful holiday! :dothewave:

 Love your H-suggestive carols
 Beautiful bunch-o-neckwear

Very striking in black

That IS quite a fab hem :panic:

It's unusually cold today in the office, perhaps the aircon is reacting to the very warm weather outside. I have a bad habit of carrying two or three scarves with me as I can never decide which to wear in the morning. Indecision rules! So I've put on 2 x 90cm  to keep warm.

La Femme aux Semelles de Vent has bands of floral and graphic ribbons interspersed with strips of fur along the borders, Aline Honore's take on the Tibetan style of clothing and rugs. In Honore's other design Cent Plis de Miao, the pleated skirt is tied wrap-around style with a ribbon waistband, and the skirt itself is decorated with bands of ribbons and embroidery.

It is a beautiful design, Paula, and love the silver applications on your top to go with it!

Thank you, dear!

You look so warm and cozy, twin!

It is worth for multiples, Paula ... love your pink one esp. ... sister in yellow.
Thank you :flowers:, Croisette, the advantage of working at home are tea, candles and general coziness.
