An absolute favorite of mine. I admit I have owned this cw in duplicate. I had bought another as a back up because it is my fav scarf . But I eventually sold it after a year. You really made it pop off the top color. And as @Snausages agreed w you too, it is scary the asking price for these! Though NoWhErE near the current asking prices, I did pay a bit over retail for my pastel Canadian. My most expensive 90.
Thanks, Nomad! I had the instinct to buy this in January 2021 because I felt like the resale market was thinning for this scarf and I was worried about rising costs. I paid $599 (just like you, one of my most expensive 90s), and just saw a different color for sale to The Real Real for double that! Truly wild.

@MissIn beautifully tied and the colorway is so soft and pretty
Thank you~ The cohesive and soft palette is what drew me in! I don't know how I missed this beauty when I first browsed the collection.
Just lovely, twin. You have paired one of my seasonal favorite silks with a perennially favorite ring and tie @MissIn!
Wow a triple twinning moment! What a coincidence! :drinks:

View attachment 5240912Into the Canadian Wild today! Not only is nature scary to me in general - as an indoor girl - but the resale prices on this scarf are beyond scary!!!
Beautiful! We are scarf twins and this is one of my favorites (being a Canadian myself ). Gosh are these a high commodity on the resale market? I haven't looked since I don't think I would ever be able to let this one go!

Love this, bunny. As you know, you were my enabler, I mean inspiration.

haha! Happy to enable ermm.... INSPIRE!

That is too funny, bunny. It got cold, so I threw an extra blanket on the bed. Well Mr. Bcat won't mind on your end, and Shelby and Bella and Mango don't care here as long as they can all sleep on the bed. I seem to put off home renovations in favor of scarves and travel and pets. At least I have my prioirities straight.

 I do all my figuring in terms of H scarves.... I have to go get my hair color repaired by my hairstylist...that's probably going to be about half a scarf there....or at least a twilly...

Thank you, dear agrume!

Thanks, bunny. You rock yours!

Thank you, snausages! :flowers:

Thank you, sweetie! :hugs:

Thanks, nomad. Blue was my gateway to h. I think a third to half my scarves must be blue...

Thanks, agrume! I don't know that I can carry them all off, but I am willing to try!

Thank you kindly!

 Yes- the prices on these are pretty darn scary! Yours ls lovely!

:ty:

Very funny story, very beautiful moussie and very clever tease about the new sales goggle scarf! Can't wait for the reveal @bunnycat!

Thank you @MAGJES! It is a fave of mine for sure. And St E is a beautiful 150 year old brick pile of charms and challenges but we love it...

   @bunnycat!

Over the moon with moons and moonstones @Redbirdhermes -- lovely. Inspired to try the rando now with double faced scarfs too.

Well, I have an owl as my avatar so I am with you all the way @sonozen! Beautiful cws. (And love the earrings!)

So nice to see this beautiful design (with its haunting title) in action @Awillow.

Especially beautiful combination of colors and your pendant is perfect @Croisette7.

Very nice with grey @Nomad.

I can't wait to see-- congratulations! We are having silky telepathy in honor of haunted theme week @Agrume. I love this design and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have (and do). It is perfect for the coming season, too, like an Advent Calendar full of goodies. Besides commemorating a milestone for me, as a child I collected Matreshka dolls so the design really resonates...

Beautiful @Agrume -- you (and @Nomad) are inspiring me to try my Artisans with this knot!

Beautiful colors-- thank you for showing it flat!

 Skeletons from neck to toe!

Yes, we love New Orleans and while our building, like the City has its challenges, we would not trade the charm and mystery and fun for any other place. Thank you @Awillow! Zabavushka was a special commemorative gift and has a special place in my heart.

Very pretty on you @laurenad.

Not to worry! It'll be coming soon! (Sunday, in fact!)

A spooky week of dreams indeed! The moussie is delightful and I’m on pins and needles waiting for the big reveal!

Do not sell these beauties to any ghosts!

As always the beauty of the silk is enhanced by the story behind - thank you for sharing!

I blame, er, credit you with opening my realm of consideration to slightly stained scarves knowing they can be scrubbed with little risk of damage

Oooooh the Anne Rice house! That Zabavushka is a beauty and I can’t believe how many I’ve had and rehomed because I didn’t know how to knot a scarf to show off its beauty!

Indeed!

For real!

Excellent pairing!

Mwah! :smooch:

Stunning! I’ve yet to see this design in any colorway that didn’t knot beautifully

I love these colors and owls are always wonderful!

Love it! I saw a different colorway pop up on the secondary market and it’s nice to know how well it ties!

TY!

A lovely ensemble!

TY! :flowers:

Twinning on the brown colorway! And another excellent Artisans!

You aren’t joking about resale prices! I love the bears and whales in this and would love to add more colorways but if I keep plunking down $612 for stained scarves that’ll never happen

Beautiful red and your grandson seems to approve as well!

Thank you! I promise to finish the story on Sunday.

You look wonderful tlamdang for your lunch!

amazing rando and yeah I can imagine about the bikes, sure can get nasty and impossible to fix!!
so glad I inspired you to get this beauty! it is one of my most beloved designs
Thank you, blydia, and I am glad, too.

HAHA! I don't wear many neutrals at all. It really seems to be something that I just have to try and see if it works depending on the color and design. This Karnak should not have worked on me in these colors, and probably would not have in these colors in silk twill, unless it was a large format, but it is one of my faves.

Gorgeous with your grey sweater!

Thank you Agrume! (Int he ideal world...he would not NOTICE a new one.... )

Both of these are beauties! The blue Les A is stunning with that dark hem!
Thank you, Bunnycat!

That artisans looks great with the rando knot, agrume. Good choice!
Thank you, Awillow!

Bedankt, Agrume!

Both so artfully tied!

Thank you, blydia!

Awillow,
thank you!
Thank you, Croisette!

Thank you, LKBNOLA - and will post a photo!

I wore a second SOTD this afternoon to play outside with my 15 month old grandson. Introducing a new-to-me La Mare aux Canards. My collection of red scarves is shaping up nicely. We are well into autumn around here, and wearing a scarf outside really helps to keep the neck warm.

Taking the story (and scarf) baton from @laurenad for my swan song this week:
There is a small town in the middle of nowhere. And in the middle of that town is a forest. And in the middle of that forest there is a lake with a well-maintained dock and a small wooden hut with a tightly locked door. A second traveler has arrived, and spellbound by the eerie beauty of the water, wanders down the dock. The sky is a brilliant blue, the water grey, almost as though lake and sky have reversed. The spiky plants along the shore have altered their coloration to orange and blue, echoing the colors along the cliff face and the mountains beyond. Something compels our traveler to try the lock. Surprised, she finds the knob twists easily in her hand. Crossing the threshold she surveys a small room—windowless and bare of furnishings. The only item in the cabin is a small print on the far wall. It seems almost translucent, as though hung in front of a window. She approaches and exclaims with delight, “Why it is an old map!” In the four corners of the parchment, the winds puff their cheeks in a fat and friendly fashion. Along the side and top margins are drawn mythical beasts and sea creatures of legend: winged horses and scaly serpents, narwhals and behemoths with oddly soulful eyes and appealing faces. Along the bottom of the map, the cartographer has warned: “Here be Monsters.” Oddly, the center appears faded, blank. As our traveler studies the map, lines and shapes emerge but shorelines dissolve and boundaries shift. Is this where I am, she wonders? Where am I? She feels a frisson of fear, then genuine trepidation. Nothing has changed but the light in the room. Strange cursive letters race across the glowing map. A bolt clicks shut. She whirls around. Gusting winds and crashing surf fill the air. The cabin walls tilt outward and the map billows like a sheet, becoming the floor she stands upon. Under her feet a red x forms and the words hic es in Latin script. The creatures in the margins rise up, thrashing and glaring with menacing eyes. Her shoes are soaked, ensnared in ropes of kelp. The map has disappeared but the letters forming on the wet sand are fearsomely clear: F-i-n-i-s-t-e-r-r-e. Finisterre. Lands End. Place of no return. There is no turning back. No turning back from the end of the world…

This ghost story makes this scarf a tad scary LKBNOLA! But it ties so prettily!

Many cultures saw Ghost Riders in the Sky not only in the stars, but also much closer to home in our own Moon. What we call the Man in the Moon has been seen as Cain the Wanderer, forever doomed to circle the Earth. Also, seen in various cultures are a woodcutter caught working on the Sabbath and banished to the Moon, a sheep-thief, a boy gathering sticks, a woman wearing jewelry, and in Japanese mythology, there is a tribe of human-like spiritual beings living on the Moon.

Here are some examples of the pareidolic images (looks like it's there, but it really isn't) seen on the Moon. (Credit to Wikipedia)

View attachment 5240015

My favorite is the second image above of a rabbit. When Apollo 11 was going to the Moon in 1969, the astronauts were alerted by NASA to be on the lookout for the rabbit.

Here is the transcript.

"NASA: Among the large headlines concerning Apollo this morning, is one asking that you watch for a lovely girl with a big rabbit. An ancient legend says a beautiful Chinese girl called Chang-O has been living there for 4,000 years. It seems she was banished to the Moon because she stole the pill of immortality from her husband. You might also look for her companion, a large Chinese rabbit, who is easy to spot since he is always standing on his hind feet in the shade of a cinnamon tree. The name of the rabbit is not reported.

"Astronaut Michael Collins: Okay. We'll keep a close eye out for the bunny girl."

=========================
More recently, Hermes designer Dimitri Rybaltchenko gives us a pareidolic image (or is it really there??) of Pegasus in the Moon. The Story Behind reads:

"As though revealing the hidden face of the Moon, the scarf is divided between shadow and light. A crescent showered in stars borders a wide disk upon which the powerful body of the winged horse, Pegasus, appears - a divine creature with a disheveled mane."

Here is Gris/Blanc version of this Ghostly image in Clair de Lune.

My SOTD is Clair de Lune, with the mythical Pegasus as my Ghost Rider in the Sky. I'm using the rando knot from @blydia and wearing my (Man in the) Moonstone pendant.

"bunny girl: I'm
My Chinese name means "moon" and my sister was named after the "bunny girl".

The ghostly owl on its night hunt… alright I just wanted to wear my new owl earrings and I decided that I need a scarf with owls to go with it!

Twins on the literature major!
I did my Honours degree in literature. During our finals, one guy walked out of the Shakespeare paper and thus failed to get his degree. The people who were sitting near him in the exam hall were badly startled (traumatized?) as Shakespeare was the one paper that none of us would ever fail after studying literature for 8 years.
