@Julide

I love your multi-color collection of this Asian-inspired scarf (can't remember the name but I have one). It must have been quite a bit of fun (and a bit of work) to track down all these colors. How long did it take you? This dedication shows you are a specialist, a true focused collector, a connoisseur. I hope you don't break up your collection ever. It's really special.

I lack your focus because I am quick to "fall in love" with beautiful things. When an SA shows me a HS I always think, "That's the most beautiful scarf I've ever seen." Many, many such beauties have come home with me. But then I see a new scarf design or cw for the first time and there's no question, it's just the most beautiful . . .

During the pandemic I've stayed out of stores b/c I always find something while aimlessly wandering. It's a bit easier with focused shopping on line b/c search terms don't always reveal what I'm looking for. Plus a scarf IRL is so much more appealing than a thumbnail shot.

How did you get the focus and dedication to put your collection together?

Beautiful!
Safe travels, and have a wonderful time! ❤

How marvelous! I love both shades of orange, and I can’t resist the soft hand of the vintage scarves. ❤
Do tell what sort of sorcery you’ve worked with this last photo… I see wings!?!

Thank you sweetheart!
It is a 70, and I made a mistake with the name. It is indeed MdM - I should not post when I have the Sweet Pea with me... she is very distracting!

I appreciate your kind words regarding my white blouses - I have an astronomical number of white/ivory/cream blouses… they go with everything! :giggle:
@Cookiefiend, In the 70s/early 80s, department stores used to have racks of white blouses every September. I would select several with care knowing they would be worn a lot. They were a foil for the different scarves I would wear every day. I didn't know about HS or even Ferragamos, but there were very nice ones in other brands. I have kept many of these scarves b/c of their uniqueness.

White is really an excellent way to present a scarf. Things get kind of busy when someone's wearing a scarf plus, say, a tweed suit, a vest, or sweater. The focus would be the overall look, not the scarf. I'll stop here.

I have several for this week, and they are all 2 word Titles...Is there something psychological there going on???

We'll start with my true love in the cat scarves subset. It was love at first sight for the first colorway I saw so I bought it as soon s I saw it, but then could NOT get the purple colorway out of my head. For EIGHT months...couldn't get it out of my head. Couldn't bring myself to sell the first and get the other, so I called to a boutique to find one (only time I have gone through the trouble of ordering from a boutique over the phone) and still (happily) have 2 (and still search for a larger format that would suit my coloring...)

Jaguar Quetzal. Caramel/Rose colorway. This was the first one I got.

But then the purple one nagged me endlessly....The purple scarves were fantastic that season. Here with the same top because I was trying to decide which one to wear that day..

And the purple on in a cowboy Bova knot.

I can see why you couldn’t get that lavender colorway out of your mind. It’s a beauty. We are twins on the first colorway! I ended up with a second one was well….the light blue and rouge.
with Couvertures CSGM this morning

1. Plumes en fete x4 as a part of a group shot when my collection could fit on the bed lol
2. Jungle love love twillies
3. Tree of song twillies
4-6 la danse des amazones.

Just realized am missing space derby but may save that for end of week.
Looking forward to the other multiples this week.
@Julide what about cross format multiples? Such as the 90 and the 140cm versions?
Love your collection Foxy! I’m dying for the yellow UtW!!
Thank you, @bunnycat , for hosting last week's leaping theme. And, welcome @Julide , as the host of this week's Multiples Week. I figured out that you were the Multiples Queen when you admitted to having all of the Tapis Persans. I only have three, but they will be coming out this week for sure. This week is sure to be a treat.

I continue my habit of finding a crossover scarf for Sunday that embodies both this week's theme, as well as last week's theme. My SOTD is Tigre Royal Fleuri. I'm wearing the red today, but the navy was one of my early purchases. These two scarves are my first multiples purchase from Hermes.

And, here is the navy from earlier this summer.

I’ve always loved that red/yellow colorway!

Sorry for the messed-up quotes, everyone! If I am not losing quotes, I am apparently doubling up and somehow muddling up the format...
I have been eyeing this week with a bit of trepidation because until recently I had few multiples and the ones I had were sort of accidental (an "inherited" or gift of a scarf that was a duplicate of one I had). I guess right there is a distinction: duplicate versus multiple. My first actually chosen "multiple" was Parures des Samurois, the scarf that started my road to H Perdition. Since then I have consciously added multiples because (a) I adore the design and "need" another or (b) I bought a cw before I became a collector and have since decided I prefer something else but have not yet parted with the first (this is my Colorway Correction Program CCP). Some of these multiples are in a re-home pile but occasionally are given another chance to audition for a leading role. Sometimes, I buy a multiple because the scarf is an "outfit-maker" and I want to have another cw for a different seasonal look or day/evening etc. So that is my story so far and I am sticking to it! Here is a recent multiple from last season. I traded my blue Selle des Steppes for red/black/blue cw which is much more casual than the black/white/gold one. I wear both quite a bit. (Last tie is @blydia's amazing "rando knot").

The black/white/gold Steppes is quite elegant paired with black. I can see why you went with the Marine colorway for the more casual look. Both are lovely! I love the “rando knot!” We need a tutorial!

Lovely intro.

wow! So many multiples! Beautiful Foxy Trini and bunnycat!

I have very few multiples. In fact only one both 90s and two 90s/CSGM. It appears to be a hang up I have for no good reason. I’ll share them now because in two days time I’m off to………..Paris! :yahoo:

LOVE both of your colorways of LE BAL DES OISEAUX (adore birds!) I am still looking this design. (Get to work @LKBNOLA !!)

Thank you Eagle! It is Ex Libris en Kimonos. I can’t recall how long it took for me to find them all but it was under a year as it was the same season it came out. I was offered by a tPFer to get both special editions for this design but sadly, I declined! (What was I thinking!!):facepalm:I was so grateful for all the help in collecting the regular season, I felt it was too much to ask!!:facepalm:Boy do I regret not getting those!!:crybaby:

You are so kind eagle, I find I collect what I like which seems to be Japanese and Persian designs, mainly. Not with intent but it seems to be what I find esthetically pleasing. I suspect that you also have some design which you are attractived to, you may have not noticed it yet:flowers:

Many apologies for the endless quotes. I am still not able to make them work correctly. I have deliberated all day and what to post and have decided to start at the beginning; the one design that started my multiple collection…eLeK

I saw the design when it came out and decided I “needed” more than one, two quickly became a hunt for all. And with the help of many tPFers, my collection came together. The sentimental aspect of wonderful people that helped me is also another reason, this one will be forever my favourite.:flowers:View attachment 5226137
Woo!! Love! I am still working on my collection of this design and saving this photo! I still need to add that wondrous orange colorway, also ….the colorway with the yellow hem, and lastly….the gray? - I was not aware of that one! You must post a pic of it flat. I do have an extra one not seen here….apple green contrast hem and red waves. I believe it was a SE.

It seems to me that when you get a new design it signals to the universe (& internet) to put more in your path.

Exhibit A is Bolduc:
View attachment 5225972Left is older reissue, Right is newer reissue- originally purchased to frame. I enjoy having examples of odd copyrights, etc. and the oldie falls in that category. It presented itself shortly after first and I couldn’t resist having both to compare/contrast.

They are very different in color & hand (the older soul has had numerous washings and is buttery soft).

“Newer” has bolder H box color and more body.

Love that Twilly!

I'll have to think about what you said about gravitating toward certain designs rather than buying some of this and that. I think I like floral designs (Fleurs de l'Opera, Secret Garden, etc.), nature (Chasse au Bois, Vendages, various bird designs, etc.) and what I would call "primitives" which is probably not the right word for designs like Imagerie and Decoupage. My interests are broad. This is all H's fault of course. They have too much of what I like. Dumas said H creates desire. (Wish I could send him the bill :) )
