Sapphire v. Diamond?

It is HIGHLY unlikely values will decrease again. If anything they just stay the same. I cannot recall a time where values went down on diamonds. Metals, yes, diamonds, no. But 45% loss is huge, IMO.

If you WANT the E/C and can afford the difference, get it. Don't settle if what you have isn't what you love. But if you go for a halo, don't get it til you've done any and all upgrades/exchanges because those settings are not interchangeable with stones.

Yes the increase is huge and your loss would be huge as well. As much as I have been wanting a tennis bracelet I am going to pass right now as well. Prices went up while I was looking, that hurt. Diamonds do go up and down a bit too but they do not go down much because the diamond concern withholds supply when demand goes down. So, unfortunately Ame is quite right. Colored stones are very beautiful too, antiques can be an option or resetting, halos are stunning in my opinion as well.

Whay not wait and find a very special sapphire...like a cushion cut...surrounded with diamonds? This is still a VERY classic look....several of my friends (from the East coast) have these as engagement rings and prefer them over diamonds.
