Obviously everyone’s needs are different based on skin type, but Dr. Heather Rogers (dermatologist and founder of Dr. Rogers Skincare, which is stellar, btw) claims we don’t need to wash first thing in the morning. For fragile sensitive skin like mine, it would be extra drying and unnecessary. I make sure my skin is clean when I go to bed at night. I suppose if I woke up with an oily or sweaty face or had any breakouts, I might feel otherwise.

I am old (74 in a week) and my skin is dry and aging, but not painfully dry. I wash my face in the morning in the shower with CeraVe Moisturizing Facial Cleanser. Very light and non-drying. In the evening I use a cleansing balm…I switch it up…and this routine works well for me.

You are not old, you are wonderfully experienced. My skin is also dry and showing signs of aging. I use La Prairie foam cleanser in the morning; it’s very gentle and leaves my skin feeling refreshed. But then again, I don’t quite have Salma’s youthful glow.

I have no words.
Comments & looks can be quite unpleasant, but what about the stuff that floats in the air
Who would want that on their skin..ugh!
To each his own
Wonder how she showers & if she feels the same if she has any acne on her body or other skin

Happy early birthday!!

Salma is one of the most beautiful women, IMO, and she's genetically blessed. She also has lots of $$$ at her disposal, so I always take stars' skin care advice with a grain of salt. They always tout whoever is paying them to claim their the best product as well, so there's that.

I have combination skin. My T zone is very oily, but the rest of my face is DRY. I rinse my face with cold water in the morning. I often shower twice a day and usually use Neutrogena body wash on my face (much to my sister's horror). I haven't changed this since I was a young girl. I only wear face powder and some lip gloss (eyeliner if I'm feeling daring), so I don't have a ton of makeup to wash off. (I don't drool either, LOL!) Honestly, it's more laziness than anything, I simply can't be bothered. I do put on face serum at night, but I think I'm somewhat lucky genetically as well. Both of my parents are in their mid to late 70s, but both look like mid 60s at most. I'm often told I look 10-15 years younger than I am (whether true or not, who knows). I am similar in color to Salma, so darker skin definitely helps as well. I think people should do whatever works for them.

Ohhh I do not exercise lol (I need to, and I still don’t. And I know)

Maybe because I’m only a mascara/concealer girl… I’m not sure. My skin is so dry that using a cleanser on already “clean” skin hasn’t ever been necessary for me, personally. I rinse off the night before moisturizer then start what is fresh for my skin!
Try Cetaphil cleanser for dry skin, not the gel form. The lotion form. It feels like you're not washing your face squeaking clean, but you are. It's the best out there. Good luck. Dry skin is a pain. Thankfully I only get it in the winter.

The gorgeous Salma Hayek shows us her morning routine:

Beware, she doesn’t wash her face. But she is gorgeous- love the bushy brows and long lashes.

The dark eyelids - I wonder if that was caused by Latisse or something like it. She loves her eyelid color.
