Sale for Chanel employees. Does such thing exist?

I think the discount amount might be changing or has changed over time. I was told they didn’t receive more than 25% and they only get this discount on a finite number of items around the end of the year. I guess the story differs depending on where you live and where you work. Very interesting information!

I found a bag on resale market which I wanted to get. The seller claimed it to be authentic and said that she got it with a a discount on private sale for Chanel employees. I got a bit suspicious as the bag she is selling is from classic collection (that is Coco Envelope flap) and there shouldn't be any discounts on classics.
The girl swore to death that the bag was authentic and she got it as a Chanel employee BUT it didn't have any authenticity sticker which I think proves that the bag is fake
So my question is there any Chanel private sales for bags?
And also I really want to know could modern bags have no sticker or does this automatically means that the bag is fake?

Yes it is quite true staff and their spouse used to be able to go to a sale twice a year and able to buy clothes, accessories, shoes and bags, but if they sold them on they could be fired, only possible to sell once retired, I am now about to sell mine as I no longer have any connection with the company due to retirement

My frds sis in law is in Australia. She told me Chanel isn’t overly popular there. She was telling me that their stores are usually empty but when I go to my boutique in Vancouver, I’d sometime have to line up during non Covid times

your friends SIL is telling porky pies. Chanel is highly popular here. Its just that with the exchange rate we have to pay and extra 2K on most of the styles in store. But there are plenty of wealthy people that have no issue with that. There are always people in store when i have walked past.

Yes they get access to sales or samples with no authenticity stickers since its not for sale. They shouldnt be profiting from it by selling it

When I used to work for Chanel in Europe, they would give you 30% discount on items from the boutique. You would need to get a letter that you are approved to use it and then you go to the boutique with that letter.

I am an ex Chanel employee in the UK. We were never given authentication cards or documentation with purchases, but all of my bags had their stickers intact. But this doesn't mean the item is not authentic. Stickers/tags get loose a lot, in my experience.

Маy I ask how reduced were they? Like 50% or more? I am seeing more and more seasonal minis and classic flaps marked Ventes Priveees Chanel sale being sold in second hand French websites. They still sell them expensively so I just wondered..

I can only speak for the UK, markdown was insane. I haven't paid more than £300 for a single one of my bags, but these are often old seasonal bags.

Hi , I hope this thread is still active. I just found my dream bag from VC platform. Was told by seller that it does not come with halo sticker or authenticity card. The bag was stamped ‘private sales 2021’ though I know the bag design might be from 2016 to 2018. Was told that it was from private sale but she provide an entrypt veer to prove its authentication.
I am about to pull the plug to buy. To me , it is something very new to me as I never bought a bag that had imprinted private sales or no halo sticker and cards. Can anyone shared if this is true. Or this is meant for employee sales and stickers and cards are removed to prevent resales ?

Attached the pic and hope ppls here or know any staff from Chanel, can confirm if such classic bag is made available to employees during such private sales? and the bag is without halo sticker and card. It does come in box, dustbag only and seller will provide 3rd party authenticate cert from authentifier.com.

hello, yes possible employees sales don’t have date code and card. Only dustbag. They can have all bags in that kind of sales like CF and 2.55.

adding on to this, yes! some time ago i got a cardholder from a seller whom i believe was an ex-employee at Chanel (she neither confirmed nor denied). The item also did not come with any serial number sticker or authenticity card but the item is certainly authentic, it even comes in the original dust bag and box, but with a sticker that says "NOT FOR SALE". But i did see a little sticker mark on the cardholder which suggests perhaps the serial number may have been peeled off? not too sure.
I can post a picture and share too! It's interesting haha

Yes you can ! I just bought a C19 to a Chanel employees. Bag is authentic of course but no serial code and card. It’s written on the bag « vente privée 2021 » but got it for 3000 euros (bag is 4900 euros in France). It’s the same bag than in store just no date code and card and of course they bought it way less than us

Good to know! Still wondering though if there's a tell-tale sign a bag WAS bought through an employee sale? @Swanky mentioned a stamp, so maybe on the inside of the bag you see a "Not for re-sale" stamp?

OP mentioned no authenticity sticker, but we obviously don't know if the bag in question is authentic. I wonder if Chanel would remove the sticker from bags for employee sales because they'd need to record so they can then chase down the employee if they re-sale?

Hologram sticker is inside but you don’t get the card.Also,there’s no special indication it’s from staff sale (had/seen many).At least that’s for uk
