Apparently the codes are automatically system generated based on purchase frequency and amount. I asked customer service about this last night since I used to get generous coupons all the time, and she said that customer service is not at liberty to generate coupon codes apart from the ones that are generated by the system. So I said thanks, I understand, I'll order from another department store that gives courtesies to their customers.

I used to get 20% codes every month. I don't buy a lot, but I bought things pretty consistently. I haven't gotten a code in the last two months, but got a 10% off to a random email account I must have used with Saks a few years back. There is no rhyme to their promos anymore.

I had the same exact issue with them a couple of weeks ago (see my post at the top of this page). It made me super angry, and I ended up ordering from Bloomingdales and Nordstrom instead. At Bloomies, I had a 15% discount code that I hadn't realized didn't apply to my purchase due to exclusions, so I contacted customer service about it. They did me a courtesy and gave me the discount anyway, and gave me free gift wrapping. Whereas Saks told me there was nothing they could do to help me.
