No problem! I wish you lots of luck in finding the pieces you're interested in. It looks like I'll be waiting another 3-4 years to get the same unicorn piece :annoyed:

Honestly, I don't think being a good salesperson has anything to do with luxury brands, which is why the blunder at my Chanel boutique really gets under my skin. If multiple SAs collectively tell the same customer they will contact them when the bag is ready, I expect them to hold to their word. It's being a genuine and decent human at that point imo.
Thanks! How annoying if we have to wait for another 3-4 years to get the piece, who knows how much that'd cost considering all the crazy price increase haha

The SA I initially contacted is actually on holiday so I ended up contacting another one. He told me there's no stock but he will keep an eye for me when delivery comes in. Would I be deemed as a super annoying customer if I call back and check? lol

Good question. IMO, so much is dependent on the management style of the each Department Store. I have been given as reason that the "management won't allow us to do xyz" (sometimes they say "Chanel" won't allow them this or that". In general I find that some stores are stuck in a 1990's lackluster style of selling to the extent that an SA won't even share a pic of new inventory with you via text. That store wants the customers to come in instead. However the same department store in another location could be vastly different in their management style, and they are ok with sharing pics, finding items in other locations, etc. I currently have an SA who shares pics with me and find items from other locations. So IMO the overall experience depends on the management style of each store and what they "allow" SAs to do or not to do.
Yes! I was very surprised when I see people talking about what they saw on the SAs iPad and got screenshots of them (I think mainly in the US). Because most of the time when I ask the SAs (both department stores & boutiques) if they know what's available for the upcoming season they often tell me they don't know. Although there's plenty of info all over Instagram and here already. One didn't even know there's a new extra mini CCH. Do they actually have no idea or they're not willing/allowed to tell us...

Hi - I just googled the tel no of the boutique and called them - the SA who helped me was Ella. The store email address is [email protected] - they also replied to that when I followed up with email.
Although one SA replied telling me the item it's not available, I have tried calling all the boutiques in London and only Selfridges picked up the phone. Unfortunately, there's nothing on the system... Thanks anyway x

It all depends.. here in the US the Neiman’s in San Francisco is managed by Chanel and employees are Chanel employees they are able to get items from other Chanel boutiques... it varies also on where they are getting the stock from... I know that there are certain locations where it must be approved by the manager first... it’s confusing... hopefully we can get more answers. I am curious about this as well!
Isn't it strange how the stores and locations have a completely different way of doing things but they're all Chanel :confused1:

Not sure if the UK is on the same timeline, but I was told that new items will be released in November. I don't have an exact date though. If you know when the next wave will be, I would call that day. Someone can check if it was released, and if it's orderable for you. If you don't know, I don't think it would be annoying to call and ask for the date. You can always say that you're genuinely interested in the item and are ready to purchase, so you don't want to miss it.

I don't like to annoy salespeople too, but at the same time, I wouldn't really care. Maybe it's my boutique, but I feel like I always had to put in the work to locate a bag I wanted. They would tell me items were sold out nationwide, which would be a lie. I would end up being the one asking them to initiate a send sale for me once I confirmed stock. The bag they sold out under me was a send sale I had to locate and ask them to initiate... I put in 3 days to get that bag for myself. I would also call corporate to ask them what colors they released for the season in the styles I liked, since no one would tell me at my boutique... Now that I think about it, that boutique really isn't stellar. I had to put in a lot of my own effort just to spend money.

Yes I think the cruise collection is landing in the UK in November too. For last year's cruise (when I got my first Chanel), there were plenty of info about the launch date here in the UK. I called the boutiques a few days beforehand but none of them could tell me what's coming, but Harrods told me the official date. I think they get stuff one day ahead. So I decided to go in first thing in the morning that day and got my bag. I am not sure if there's an "ordering system" here in the UK but they wouldn't even tell me what would drop...

It's hard to hear that you had to put in so much effort to buy something! Why is Chanel doing this to us  Making us do all the hard work and the SAs are there just to complete the transaction? That'd make the brand more "prestige"?
