if it's true she wanted it and they knew it and yet they gave it to him - i think i would be done. ut what else does she have to do at her age? :confused1: she is lucky if she gets to keep her job because i could honestly see him trying to get someone new and younger for her role! just like they did on the price is right - all the older models who had been there for years were fired for younger ones for a "fresh new look" they said!

i don't know the viewers ages either but maybe they are trying to bring in a younger demographic now. they obviously think he is an asset that could pull this off. bless their hearts. from the comments i saw most people were saying they will not watch after pat is gone - either they just can't see anyone else in his job or they just can't stand ryan and refuse to watch him! can't wait to see how this turns out.

I tried doing a search for "why Ryan Seacrest" and didn't get anything....I guess most people don't really care. I don't watch that show so guess I don't care much either. as far as Vanna, sad she hasn't had a raise in 18 years but I'm sure she has more $ than me. and she's 66 so if she retires, it's not that bad IMO

I’ve actually just started watching the show a little more regularly and can’t imagine Ryan Seacrest as host. I just don’t feel his energy and delivery is right for the show. They should have done what they did for Jeopardy and have a variety of different people fill in for a time to see who might work best.

I can see Vanna eventually retiring and Pat Sajak’s daughter filling her spot.

Growing up with these game shows with the same hosts for literally decades makes these changes so hard. The Price Is Right, Jeopardy, and now Wheel will never be the same for me.

it sure is because my grandmother watched them every single day and night! it was so hard to imagine someone other than bob barker on TPIR but i really like Drew Carey now. i didn't believe it would work and didn't watch it for a long time because of him but he has done a great job making it his own.

Here's what I worry about with him as a host...

I find the show with Pat to be calm and relaxing... There's no over the top crazy high energy. It's just... Fun and chill.

I anticipate the show with Ryan as the host being dialed up a few notches in a phony, loud, slick way.

I was driving around this morning and it seems the news about it was on every radio channel. And the feedback seemed neutral to leaning ever so slightly negative/skeptical.

I guess we will see next year how it all turns out!
