Hi Ladies!

I need a medium to deep, red for my collection and have narrowed it down to Rouge Grenat and Rubis after seeing possibilities in the preloved market.

Unfortunately, my eyes cannot tell the difference! Can someone share which is best and more neutral to be used all year round?

Also, what undertones do each of these have?

I don’t think Rubis is a color currently in production or being offered, and I don’t recall seeing Rubis B/K on reseller market recently either. I have Rouge Grenat Togo B25 and Rubis rodeo. Will try to take a pic later today.

Rouge Grenat is a very hard to capture color (as is the case with many H colors of course). Here’s a comparison shot of B25 in Rouge Grenat Togo against Rubis milo lambskin rodeo and Rouge Vif Tadelakt Kelly twilly. I know the leather makes a big difference but I’d say you won’t be disappointed by either Rouge Grenat or Rubis. It’s probably relatively easier to find a Rouge Grenat bag in a pristine condition based on my observation. Good luck!

I have this exact bag on my list! It's truly the perfect deep red. I really love it in a B25.

I got a Rooroo not too long ago in Rubis so thought maybe the color was making its way back!

Chime in a little here.
Used to own R Grenat in Clemence. Have compared to my gf’s Rubis Clemence.
RG to me is a deeper red, more vibrant than Rubis, and with no orange undertone. Personally I think it’s a more elegant red than Rubis.
Here, we wear colors as we like as there’s no seasons here to differentiate all year round.

Well I didn’t get the bag from the boutique... That’s all I’m going to say... But with your amazing SA and SD I’m sure your wish will be granted soon!

Rubis rodeo and rooroo have been available for almost a year? But I really don’t recall seeing any Rubis bags, not even SLGs. I did have the chance to grab a Rouge Grenat matte gator KTG yesterday online, and it was quite a struggle. Finally decided not to get it because I really need to give my wallet a break, but I don’t know if my willpower will stay strong if I see it popping up again.

Yes, I recall when you got this! Such a dream bag. It's on my list so let's see. My SA will definitely let me know if the color is available.

RG Gator KTG sounds beautiful! Definitely admiring your willpower in not getting it.

Came across this old thread when I was browsing for outfit inspo and thought I would share my two cents, in case it's ever helpful for someone in the future.

Sharing a side-by-side comparison in natural light of Rubis in Tadelakt for the K28 and Rouge Grenat in Epsom for the Calvi. The way these colors are shown completely depend on the leather type. Rubis in Clemence seems more muted and brown-toned, whereas Rubis in Tadelakt is more vibrant (but I would not say bright - still a deeper red than, for example, Rouge De Coeur).
