Hi all...has anyone had the experience coming into the US borders back from Milan/Rome. How much is the usual tariff for leather goods coming in?
TIA! ;)

My experience at SFO today: I declared $4000 worth of goods (I bought an Evelyne, belt kit, scarf and some non-hermes souvenirs). I was told to pay 3% for the first $3000 and 10% after. I was with my husband and daughter so we were tax exempted for $2400. However, after calculating they figured out that I am only paying $45 so they just let me go [emoji5]️

Unfortunately, your chance is close to zero. Buying regularly sold online leather items in Rome would save you money. Rome is not a hopeful place for unusual coveted pieces.

Oh bummer! [emoji22] guess I'll be crossing my fingers that I'm lucky enough to score anything when I visit Rome! Would you advise that I would get a better chance in Florence? Or is it close to zero too?

I was able to get a Birkin 30cm on my first visit to Milan Hermes. The sales assistant was incredibly helpful and gave me a choice of two colour options. I did purchase other items, which I think helped.
I think a lot of it comes down to luck and connection with sales assistant.

Was looking for Lindy in padua, bologna, venice and rome but no luck. The times when i saw lindys, they were for display only. 1 in ostrich in Rome.

Managed to buy a blue nuit picotin in venice. There was a gold one on display

Guess its higher chance for picotin but always doesnt hurt to ask for stuff if you dont see it on shelves

Hi I am currently in Venice but only found a GP with no Lindy at all.... And Will be moving to Milan soon. May I know the possibility of getting a Lindy there? As I will only be spending three nights there before I leave the country...

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi everyone,

I'm going to Rome and Florence this June and will of course drop by H for some orange shopping

Hoping to buy a few smaller items/accessories before dropping the B/K question (though I know many of you have said Italy isn't the place for B/K)

Those of you who have visited the stores - do the SAs in the Rome & Florence stores work by sections (e.g. scarves/accessories, bags, RTW) or does 1 SA serve you throughout the store?
