Hi! I’m very new to wearing a VCA guilloche pendant and I noticed that througout the day, the necklace rolls and it gets shorter. It feels like it’s going to choke me. Is this just me or does this happen to anyone else? What am I doing wrong?

Do you mean the chain is twisting on its own? There are several threads with people experience this issue, though I don't have issue with the 3 pendants I own. From the discussion it sounds like a combination of your neck anatomy vs. the weight of the solid gold pendant causing the chain to twist. Some people have found extending the chain by 2 inches seem to solve the problem.

Gotcha! I did a search but typed “rolling” and not “twisting”. Thank you!
Like @Gracilan mentioned, the 2" extension may not be a fix for all. Maybe you can purchase an extender chain from Amazon just to test it out to see if it'll fix the problem. If it does, then you can have VCA to add the extension. If not, return the extender chain and bring in the pendant to the boutique to see what the SA can do for you. Hope this help!

My chain was extended 2” and it still twists. If you just purchased it maybe you can switch it out. No exchange after extending it. Good luck!

I bought the 2” extender and still twists. If I bring it in the boutique, what do I ask for them to do to help or mitigate the twisting issue? Is it a defect of the necklace I own and can be remedied by switching to another piece?

Yikes, sorry to hear that the extender didn't help with the twisting. You can kindly ask if the SA is willing to let you try on another pendant and wear it around the boutique to see if the chain twist, if it doesn't twist like the one you currently own then see if a replacement (if you're still within the return window) or send it out just to replace the chain is possible. So far it doesn't sound like a defect, people either add the extension to make it more comfortable and/or learn to live with the twisting. But ask your SA to double check what they've done for other clients before, I can't imagine you're the the only one who come in with the twisting chain problem. Good luck & keep us posted :)

I honestly think that the main cause of this issue is that the VA motif is fixed on the chain, instead of free-moving on a bail, like the Sweet single motif necklace, or the long Magic pendants. I've gotten used to fixing mine throughout the day, but I have to say that I am a bit more critical now about what sort of necklaces I look into purchasing.

I didn’t know that it’s an issue before the purchase. The reason why I was attracted it was because I hated the clasp rotating and ends up stuck with the pendant. I guess I found a different problem. Lol!

Does it happen only with guilloche pendant? Or is this issue applicable also to the stones vintage Alhambra pendants? I was going to purchase my first vca vintage pendant soon, but now I have a second thoughts.

It’s really hard to determine the root cause. I own 3 pendants in sweet and VA sizes, both stone and guilloche. None of the chain twist on me so YMMV.
