I am interested in buying a watch for my big birthday next year and narrowed it down to 2 models. I need a bit of advice which one to go for?
I currently have a date just 26 mixed with diamond dot dial gold and a gold date just 36 oyster strap. My style is elegant and understated

Both are wonderful brands that have a rich history and excellent craftsmanship.

The Rolex may be viewed as more valued (or more of a "real Swiss-made watch") due to the fact that the Rolex brand is specifically for watches while Cartier is a luxury fine jewelry house, that also makes watches.
Rolex resale value tends to be better than Cartier or it tends to hold its value better than Cartier. Cartier full gold watches especially tend to lose resale value (for some reason , maybe due the value of gold on the market).

Rolex generally tends to make more of a statement than Cartier. Though it does depend on the model.

Both watches are quite elegant IMO, but the Rolex stands out more than the Cartier (especially with more diamonds).

Regardless of which one you choose, as long as you are happy with it, that's all that matters! Happy shopping!

I love the look of the Rolex on your wrist. The color of the dial against your skin is beautiful without being too flashy. I usually am a big Cartier fan but to me the Rolex looks more understated on you. Hope this helps!

Both are beautiful! The Rolex looks more eye-catching due to the diamonds, but the Cartier Panthere is so classy. I would lean more towards Cartier only because you already own two Rolex watches already. It's such a hard decision you have to make! But either one will be a great choice!

Thank you

My daughter did say that the photograph for the Cartier did not do it justice (she took a quick snap)

I'd like either of them better w/o diamonds but I suppose that's not responsive to your question.
Both nice but Rolex is a "real" watch and Cartier is quartz, right?

I want to wear it everyday but I am a bit concerned about the oyster strap scratching on the rolex. I have no intention of selling as I buy jewellery to hand down to my children
