Hi gals,

I've set my heart on a date-just everose gold & steel (two-tone) Rolex w/ diamond markers (jubilee style).

I already have a steel lady-size date-just with diamond markers in lady size (jubilee) AND a steel, black dial mid-size date-just (non-jubilee).

Since I have Rolex is both sizes I want, I don't know which size to get for this new one.

I see rolex as an investment since prices go up steadily, esp w/ good economy. Now is a good time to buy cuz I can get a pretty good bargain because of the weak state of the overall economy. I want this watch to be fashionable, classy and long-lasting. I really see myself owning this watch till I'm in my 70's. Which would be a good size for the next year, next decade, and next half-century?

Any suggestion pls??

I only have 1 Rolex, which is a lady size, rose gold/steel, jubilee with diamond markers. I have tiny wrists but even so, i find the lady size tiny. I borrowed my daughter's Rolex, mid-size steel jubiliee with diamond markers & I love it. My next buy will be the exact same one but with different color face. I find the mid size more casual, something that I can wear more often than the one I have now but it could be that it was steel as oppose to 2 tone.

Buy the size that you think you will wear more often, especially when you already have both sizes. Or since you already have a lady size jubilee, then go for the mid-size? But then if you say you could see yourself wearing this in your 70ies, then get the lady size. Sorry I'm no help since I now only have the mid size steel jubilee diamond markers on my mind.

Sunny100, thanks for your thoughts!! At least I'm finding ppl who prefer the mid-size. (One of the dealers told me that I should get the lady size cuz it's the classic size for ladies, but I thought to myself, if this is the "best" size, why would Rolex produce a mid-size?)

I'm beginning to think that when I'm old, I may have worsening eyesight and the mid-size will probably be better for me anyways.

Also agree that since my mid-size is not a jubilee, I should get this two-tone jubilee in mid-size.

Any other thoughts, ladies?

i think for a rolex with diamond markers, ladies size looks nicer because the diamonds make it a fancier watch. mid size is more casual.....that's just my opinion.

I find that the lady size with diamond markers make the face look even smaller & it's hard to see the time. I have small wrist too (less than 5 inch) & I am planning to get a mid-size very very soon before the next price increase.

I heard there will be an increase in October (at least in Hong Kong)

Wow, this is such a coincidence! I was in the exact predicament as you. I'm also getting a Rolex stainless steel and rose gold and diamond markers and I have wrist size 5.5 inches.

At first I only thought about getting the ladies, but my girlfriend (who is very much the fashionista) and both the sales people insisted that I get the mid-size. After much debate and thought, I came back to the store and tried on the mid-size. Surprisingly, it looked so much better than the ladies to me. (Brainwashing?) Now, I'm totally getting the mid-size!

I have done a lot of Rolex shopping over the past couple of years and in my conversations with AD's they have consistently said the trend is towards bigger watches for women.

I do like the bigger watches and have found myself buying bigger sizes over time. I have a white gold pearlmaster with a diamond bezel that is the smaller size (it was the only size Rolex made when I bought it) and I hardly wear it because it is small. I just recently bought the datejust in the 36 mm and love, love, love it. I did briefly worry about it looking like my husband's watch, but I got a colored dial that I think helps make it look less masculine. I love that watch to death.

For all this rambling, my thoughts are that I would not buy another ladies size, but would go for the mid size. In the end though, it doesn't matter what the trends are -- all that matters is what do you love seeing on your wrist!!

Good luck!

Thanks lychee124 and ssc0619.

Yes, I heard the trend is toward bigger watches. However, one of the Sales said that it's just a trend and may go away one day (I mean to keep my expensive watches forever). He said that Rolex for ladies are meant to be small.

I don't know if it's because he doesn't have a mid-size at the time I went into the store or what.

I went Rolex shopping again with my lady-size date just and I think this third one I'm getting will probably look too much like the lady-size jubilee I already have if I pick a lady-size again. Am really considering getting a new one in mid-size instead.

Thanks for all your opinions!
