Oh no if your buying from an authorised dealer you don't need to worry but you can always check that the serial number matches what's on the paperwork I always do but then I think I'm just a bit OCD lol, I've purchased all of our Rolex's brand new I just think its nicer you know that no ones worn it or abused it, I have purchased 2 secondhand Cartiers one was only 2 years old & came from the jeweller that originally sold it brand new & the other a Tank which was nearly new.

If a broker is buying your watch, they will take the back off to make sure there are genuine parts. They certainly don't want to get cheated.
A reliable non authorized store will never put their reputation on the line for a quick buck. They too have standards, just do your home work.

OP why don't you take your watches in now & see what they say about them. Everything now is just guesses.

If its not gold or platinum, its scrap metal. Take a look at pricing on stainless steel per ounce. Then look at gold or platinum per ounce.

I would not put Cartier in the same league as Rolex. The world loves Cartier. The prices for Cartier anything goes crazy at auctions. Not so for Rolexes, too many 'out there,' auction houses usually don't take them unless they are 18kt & very special models. But they'll take any Cartier basic model. Cause they sell & people only care that its a Cartier.

Tag & J12 are lower level brands. Breitling watches while gorgeous, are just very overpriced to begin with.
