Hi! I'll chime in and add my thoughts...

First, there are several versions of the green Submariner. There are also several versions of the Hulk.
The Hulk you posted, with a green dial, was launched in 2010 and is now discontinued. I am sure you know that. It is the only Hulk version with the green dial as other Hulks have a black dial.

That said, the latest version of the green Sub is the Starbucks, launched in 2020. As you also probably know, this is a 41mm case (Hulk is only a 40mm case). The Starbucks green dial is also a slightly different hue.

Some people think the black dial with the green bezel looks great together. I am one of them.
I love the pop of green against the black dial; it's manly, yet when worn on a lady wearing jewelry such as VCA, I think it gives off the Art Deco vibe... quite chic and striking.

The Starbucks is also the current model, so you can truly get a brand new one.
For me, I would go with the Starbucks.

That said, since you are looking at the Hulk, which is a discontinued model, I assume buying used is not an issue for you. If that is correct, the original "green" Sub is the Kermit. That is a beloved model for collectors.

If I were you, I would look at all three green models to decide. I vote Starbucks.

As for the bracelet, I love oyster bracelets now. I've had jubilee bracelets, and I feel they look at bit dated.
On a sport watch such as the GMT, I also feel it looks a bit soft/feminine and super dated. That's just me.
Sport watches should look "rugged" which is the whole point of a sport watch, the big chunky look, so I vote oyster.

As for wearing a chunky watch with VCA jewelry, I love it!
I wear a lot of jewelry, including VCA. My current watch is a SS Daytona, and I love the chunky watch look with feminine jewelry.

I am loving this thread! I have a Sub and wear VCA every day; I would take any green Rolex, any day! I have a mint dial DJ 31 that I love, but the tool watches just get my heart fluttering.

Oh, I love love LOVE to see more women in men’s sports watches!!!!

My daily watch is a Submariner. So I love that style. I absolutely vote for the Hulk here, because that green is seriously delicious in person. It changes in various lights from a vivid green to so dark it is nearly black.

That said, the Pepsi is also divine. You cannot go wrong. I’ve tried that one as well but cannot find photos. One thing you want to consider is the different bracelets. Jubilee and Oyster bracelets wear a bit differently. Jubilee is super comfy because the smaller links conform to your wrist. I also like oyster but it doesn’t have the same degree of flexibility. You also want to consider the extension system. The Hulk will have GlideLock. Super easy to use and gives you micro adjustments (I love this because I swell like crazy). I *think* that the Pepsi comes with easy link, which is designed to flip to a certain length to give you extension over a wet suit. Still great if you swell, but does not give you microadjustments. It’s just a set length.

One more thing: the utility of the bezels is different. I use my timing bezel on my Sub all the time. The Pepsi is a GMT bezel so great if you travel a lot but not super useful otherwise.

For those who have said it doesn’t work with VCA, I disagree. VCA is fairly feminine on the whole, and Rolex sports watches provide a fabulous juxtaposition. Sure, it’s not for everyone, but what fun would it be if we all had the same pieces?

Thank you for the reply and your collection is fire! I have gifted my wiife all her Rolex Professional models and they all are in 40mm. She tends to wear her 40mm Rolex as her daily.

I do like the Hulk a lot and kind of wished I didn't pass on it, when the AD offered in 2020 bc it was literally discontinued the next month. Now Rolex only sells the Starbucks which I do not like at all, and have passed on it from 4 different ADs lol.

I guess I’m in the minority also as I voted for the Pepsi, but I’m biased towards the GMT I general since I own a Batgirl. I love the history of the Rolex GMT, esp in the red/blue colorway, and I love the functionality of the GMT since I travel a fair bit. I’m not a fan of VCA but I do wear mine with Cartier and Dinh Van and other pieces and I like the juxtaposition between a somewhat masculine tool watch and more feminine pieces. Really, though, you can’t go wrong with either!!
