Rolex or Cartier love bracelet?

well by the rate of Cartier price increases holding on to your love is perhaps the best policy. I would probably also rather sell your unused purses in order to get the Rolex. for me both are important pieces.

Do you know if Rolex increases in price too? I thought I remembered a regular two tone datejust with diamond markers being about $8k 5 years ago... And the last I looked it is now $14k. Not totally sure though as I haven't been tracking Rolex prices, but if so then it seems to undergo pretty frightful increases as well!

good point - I haven't actually followed those but am pretty sure they also increase. if those prices you quoted are right - wow!!!

my point was that selling the love bracelet only to get it later on would be a sure loss of $$ as the prices keep increasing.

perhaps saving up for the Rolex is the way to go or selling the bags that are no longer used

Sorry mods, started my own thread!

Hi ladies, I've been thinking of getting a Rolex recently. I'm eyeing a vintage all-gold oyster perpetual datejust with diamond markers. I would likely have to trade in my 4-diamond yg Cartier love bracelet to get this though. And besides, I probably wouldn't wear a love together with the Rolex. Do you think the Rolex is worth giving up my love for? I should add that I'm not usually a watch person, but there is something just so sophisticated about a Rolex. TIA!
Definitely the rolex. Just because one is a timepiece - to be passed on generation after generation, with hours spent on building a watch movement that is a mechanical masterpiece.

The love bracelet is, to be honest, two solid pieces of gold made from pouring molten gold into a mold...

If you aren't a watch person then it wouldn't make any sense to buy a watch, there are other watches that are also just as chic as Rolex for half the price if you aren't sure about wearing a watch but I must admit that I love Rolexes too, I own 3 and love each one. I would hold onto the Cartier Love because you might not want to wear a watch all the time and I find that my Love bangle goes perfect with my Rolex. Also when you buy a Rolex you have to factor in paying for repairs/maintenance which can be pricey.

Thanks for all the comments ladies! I've decided to hold on to my love bracelet. Still undecided at the moment as to whether I would eventually get the Rolex at some point.. While I do like the look of the presidential, i'm not sure I'm prepared to pay 45k for a new one. After looking at some pre-owned ones, not sure if I could trust that all the parts are original/ in good working order etc. Also when i think that I could probably buy a 1 pound gold bar for that money, makes me want the gold bar instead :graucho:

I would save until I can get the watch and keep the bracelet...

save for rolex and keep the love.

Don't give up the bracelet. Just save up and get the Rolex later.

I agree with these ladies!

I'm actually in the opposite situation... I have a Rolex and I'm saving up for a Love bracelet. Both are such classic pieces, I don't think I could choose one over the other!
